its because rubix make terrible cubes and alot of the better ones are around £5

this is a good one thousands of times better than the rubiks

amazon.co.uk/gp/…1_3?qid=1438722558&sr=8-3π=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=magic+cube&dpPl=1&dpID=41rfKLFWtsL&ref=plSrch

I think I saw them on sale at B and M in Derby for £5. They looked genuine rubik's but they were in a plastic blister package rather than this box. Just mentioning it in case anyone has a B and M close by and wants to check.

I got one from a UK seller on eBay for £1.99.

Because no one is explaining why this is the cat's whiskers....or bee's knees...or whatever.

Rather than £2 for some plastic from Hong Kong.

Heat from me. Great price for branded cube.

Home Bargains £4.99 (as previously posted), they also have the magic rings and rubiks snake same price

As above, Home Bargains have the genuine Rubik's 40th anniversary edition (1974-2014) version for £4.99. Genuine cubes have a nicer action, but the stickers do eventually come off.

these are better than the ones from home bargains or tge ones in the blister packaging as they use stickers and these ones use plastic tiles, although they are both official.

No. I'm afraid not. Among cubers, Rubiks branded cubes are without doubt the worst of cubes. They haven't updated their design since the original. It was good then, but times have moved on.

Cubes by Dai Yan or Moyu can be bought for much less and are infinitely stronger and with far better movement than Rubiks brand.
