In the 70,s resorted to soaking the cube in the bath, then placing stickers in correct positions on the cube. That was until the Borg arrived on TV and we all got pretty scared.

That's what someone else on here said about the Shengshou III, which I duly bought, but it wasn't really that much better than what I already had.

I think it's more the limitations of the method I'm using and my own brain. I'm happy with that time though, it's only a casual pass time.

I followed instructions once and completed it in about 4 hours

Where did you find these, were they in the toy section or on a clip strip somewhere or in the reduced section. I scanned my store and didn't find any.

My fastest was 36s but that was REALLY lucky and usually I'm around the 58s mark.

Unless you had one of the original hungarian ones imported (unlikely) then the Rubik's Cube was not released until 1980.
