I really do wish you all the luck in the world 🗺 lmao!
If this works as well as the machine you hire, it's a bargain, particularly with the hand held cleaner attachment which works really well on car uphostery
I bought this last time it was on here (12+ months ago?). It definitely picks up lots of dirt out of your carpets, but if you have a pet or long-haired people, stay away. It is DREADFUL at hair on the carpets, leaving behind shower drain like clogs of hair as you go.
Upholstery attachment works well, as noted above.
Also, I bought cheap(er) carpet shampoo off Amazon, works nowhere near as well as the official (expensive) stuff.
Hope that helps.
Is it just me or does "Rug Doctor" sound like a euphemism for a gynaecologist?

Screwfix 'no nonsense' carpet detergent gets very good reviews and is far cheaper than the official stuff.

Aren’t you meant to vacuum first?
I just rented a rug doctor today, worked really well. I used the screwfix no nonsense carpet cleaner (5ltr for 11, so much cheaper than offical) and worked really well
