BlueStacks App Player allows users to run Android applications on a Windows 7 PC.

If you have an Android phone, you've probably installed an app or two. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to run them on your Windows PC? BlueStacks App Player makes this possible for certain apps.

BlueStacks App Player is the alpha version of an emulator that lets you use use Android on PC. It works a bit like a widget. When clicked, BlueStacks App Player will display the ten apps that have already been pre-installed, which are mostly games.

BlueStacks App Player's interface is easy to navigate. You can install new applications by clicking the "Get More Apps" button.

Tried this a few weeks ago slowed my PC right down

Have it installed on my PC works good, probably wont work for older PCs maybe.

must be really badly programmed if slows down even a farily basic pc - andoid ics runs fine on a joggler and hp touchpad

Nice Idea, terrible program. Slowed my PC (Dual core), many Apps unusable, ones that ran were slow and jerky, App downloads took an AGE and not very friendly user experience.

Old news and was deemed a failure as far as I knew

The computer isn't running Android ICS though. It's running Windows 7 AND an emulator for Android - with emulators usually taking up a lot more power than the original software does (particularly early releases).

Anyones bluestack not working? mine wont start up keeps crashing and having to close program

If it's still an alpha, no wonder it doesn't perform well.

its just an alpha version - the developers will take the constructive feedback to improve the next version! thanks to the developers for sharing.

^^ sounds like abit of a fib...

Good app, you will need a good PC tough otherwise you will run into problems.

did not work for gfx card driver issues apparently

i had it back in few weeks ago. it's okay, can run chu chu rocket pretty fine, GTA III works fine as well but poor framerate. There is one severe bug however if you reopen bluestack or open the program twice there would be a fatal message and your computer will be automatically rebooted. it's alpha though and it's just out this year so can't really complain.

Is this better than just installing Android x86 on VirtualBox?

2 of the worst things in the tech world; PC and Android? Gah.

Sorry for the slight OT here, but it's rather unusual to find another Joggler user on a forum apart from Joggler Wiki! Are you using JazzMod ICS or Mijuu's build?

Anyway, back on topic - although BlueStacks is a good idea, from my tests the performance wasn't brilliant.

use chrome, and search play for a user agent switcher. job done.
