Runtastic PRO (App) - FREE (down from £5) With Appoftheday

Really good app for tracking your outdoor cardiovascular exercise. Can be linked to your Myfitnesspal account for calories spent.
The link is for Android, but also confirmed on iOS by ppshopaholic
I got it last year from the same deal. It's had some major updates and PRO is now free again for today only.
You don't need to download the Appoftheday app to get PRO. Simply download the free "Runtastic" app from the play store (hopefully linked to above).
Once installed, launch the app, navigate to settings, go to "Promotion Code" and enter "appoftheday". This should unlock PRO once you restart the app.
Thought it was worth a share
Shared Via The HUKD App For Android.

On iOS Runtastic PRO is free for today. No code needed.

I thought runtastic was a monthly subscription model?

I recommend runkeeper, everything you need is available on the free app, and it's not nearly as obnoxious about their overpriced subscriptions as runtastic and endomondo are, and runkeeper even if you want the pro, is something like £12/yr instead of the incredible monthly charges of the other two. Greedy apps if you ask me.

Runtastic GOLD is a monthly subscription. PRO is free forever, basically unlocks all of the features of which is limited on the free version.

Endomondo is good, there's a free version and a pro version. I also like Zombies Run, but I'm a big child.

Got the deal anyway, have some heat. :-)

I redeemed but can not exit and restart app to find it there!

Also on iOS - thanks!

Use Sports Tracker. It's free, no upgrade nonsense and it's really good.

There are great alternatives out there, but the main tipping point for me with Runtastic is the integration with Myfitnesspal. I believe Runkeeper as moosery2 highlighted has MFP compatibility. Depends on what you're looking to get out of it I think.
Also I have most of the other Runtastic PRO apps like the pedometer (my favourite when I was working my old job), pressups, mountain/road bike - all for free so I couldn't really complain.

I can't find where to enter code on Android. Help?

Nah, PRO still gouges you on the in-app purchases to unlock features

Download and install the free Runtastic, open the app (you can skip the login stuff for now), click on Settings, scroll right towards the end to "Enter Promotion Code", and that's it.

You might get a server connection failed message, but keep trying, it'll go through eventually, for me it worked on the 2nd go.

You're gonna want to press your 'alt' or 'options' (?) button on your phone on the main screen of the app (on my S3 it's the left button), from there 'settings', the 'Enter Promotion Code' is near the bottom. Hope this helps.

Shouldn't this be in freebies?

Most of the app is free and I can highly recommend it having used it for a year

I have never used any of the in app purchases and use the app daily for taking runs, bike rides and long walks

It's a nice app on the phone, and it works really well on the Web when I log in for a check on my progress

I see where you're coming from, but all of the in-app purchase features listed are plans or training schemes, usually tailored towards people looking for more of a personal trainer experience

Code is invalid in IOS it is telling me.

thank you.

Heat added.
Code worked as described on android (SGS3)
Looks like a great app, just need to get off my backside now!

You don't need the code, they've made Pro free on iOS for today.

Boo HOO code doesn't work on iOS ....... It's saying code invalid!

For iOS devices download the pro version as it is free for today, no need to enter any code. OP please add this in your description so people can install on iOS devices. I had the same issue at first.

Have you used this and endomondo?

If so, which would you recommend and why?

Thanks!

Great. Thanks!

You might have signed up for the free trial of GOLD by creating an account, the app is PRO and should be fine for as long as you have it installed.

I've personally used Endomono very briefly, I noticed it may have been better if I knew more people who use it actively to really get involved. Interface is a bit less complicated. I'm sure others may have a more detailed comparison.

You don't need to enter any code for iOS. Just download the full Runtastic PRO app for free on iTunes:
itunes.apple.com/gb/…332

It's only on android that you need to download the free lite version and then enter the code to make it into the PRO version.

I don't suppose there is a way of transferring a couple of years stats history from endomondo?

I'm a tad confused - on the Play store, Runstatic Pro is shown as £0.99. If I download it, will I be charged £0.99 for the privilege?

Thanks

I'm sorted now thanks - I downloaded "Runstatic Running & Exercise" which was free and have managed to upgrade fine

Downloaded thanks though don't think I will use it - been using Runkeeper for years, would find it too hard to switch! Wish I could get Runkeeper elite for free!! Thanks OP.

I think these developers are living off the fat of the land.

Would it still be free if reinstalled at a later date?

99p on google play for android. totally love this app for tracking my runs. excellent user interface, interaction and syncing with your account on the website

I have successfully got the pro ... But how do you reset the app ??? Help

I used to use runkeeper on iphone but gave up on it since at that time they ddn't run on WIndows phones as I'd changed my phone. Runtastic is amazing, more features than runkeeper and is supported everywhere!
