My personal opinion on this steamer, saw it on HUKD last year at the same price from Amazon, when I got it I soon realised why it was £9.99, the plastic was very cheap and brittle. Sold it on ebay for £6, but it took me a couple of hours to actaully get back in the box!, much to my anger!

My advice?, spend a couple of extra quid and get a decent one!

true say mate.. aint worth it.. got one.. dont use it... cba 2 ebay it..:whistling:

Steamily low price though.

Seems to be the case with all Russell Hobbs products. Look good but are completely useless.

Bought this for my mum when this deal was posted last year. She absolutely hates it. The steamer itself is really small. The timer does not stop itself. Quality of the steamer is overall quite poor.
You are better going for this deal hotukdeals.com/ite…on/

Can't comment on the value or not of this because I don't have one but in the past we once had a Tefal which worked very well for about twelve and a half months and then broke :-( To replace it we bought an Asda one which was totally useless. After taking that back we decided to give up on electric ones and bought a Tesco double decker stainless steamer to go on the gas hob. It's tough, reliable, easy to control the heat and easy to clean. I would like it to be bigger but I wouldn't bother with an electric steamer again.

...could be a nice addition to my new kitchen!!

More likely a waste of cupboard space, If i didn't flog mine on fleabay, I would of thrown it out the window.

got one also last year, nice size, mine boils fine (in about 3 minutes) steams everything to perfection.

bad points are :-

feels like its gonna break every time you touch the placcy.
the bottom tray, no matter what you put in boils up, so ends up boil the bottom tier.

but i got mine for nowt, so cant complain........

end of the day though if i had paid for it i would of sent it back and spent that little bit more, but the size is great though .

I'm still using a cheap Argos Cookworks one 3-4 years on. Works well.

bought this last time posted wouldnt recomend very poor quality and very small

I also bought this last time. Flimsy build, brittle plastic, doesn't quite 'fit' together properly, timer doesn't work, steaming takes about 20 mins :o\

Not recommended at all.

Having read all the comments from owners/users, looks like another false economy. Anyway, microwaving retains the nutrients and only takes three minutes to cook most (non-root) veg with just a splash of water in the bottom of the bowl.

Isn't it amazing how many people vote without even looking at one or two comments? Basically, not one person has said this is any good. Yet it's still over 300 degrees!!!

Ordered two of them couple of days ago just had email saying having trouble getting my money from card, looked back on site prices have gone back up to £20 :x so cancelled order

Absolutely bag of poo!! Plastic cheap and nasty, the stacker rings dont fit propery, the lid is very dodgy and the bottom boils up and overcooks the bottom layer and overflows onto the worktop however much you put in it. Took mine to the car boot last year and sold it for £2!! Wouldnt dare ask for anything more!! Avoid and pay extra for a better quality one. Looks good on the box, but crap inside it.
