Thanks OP, ordered!
Good price OP.

Was going to buy, but safety concern stopped me (Argos 18-7-19 review: "Kettle was pretty good however it’s not for everyone because it gets scalding hot when it boils so you have to be very careful and mindful of who you allow to use it. Apart from that it does boil quick and looks good on the worktop").

That a major safety concern. Has anyone told this to the manufacturer?

Good you did not buy it! Why should an electric kettle boil water so hot and quick?! This should be reported
We had one of these at work and it leaked from the bottom of the water fill window in only a few weeks.

I've got one of these. Yes, presumably the kettle gets hot (though I don't think I've ever touched it). The only safety issue I find is that if you pour immediately after it's boiled hot steam shoots out around the lid and scalds your hand...but thats the price I pay for being impatient

You need to take it up a very high mountain - so it'll 'boil' at a lower temperature. Problem solved! PS don't forget the generator.

Thanks for the warning. I had the same problem with my oven. It was extremely hot when I opened the door. I thought to myself 'this isn't safe, I could burn myself on this'. Sent it back straight away.

That was unnecessary: if you just leave it switched 'off' at the wall it'll be fine!
I had a lawnmower with a big, sharp blade which whizzed around when it was switched on: could have hurt someone that!
On our their replacement as they leak from the bottom and also scald you hand from the steam coming out the back of the lid when pouring. This 3rd one tastes funny even after months of use. Almost a chemical taste. Time for a new kettle and not Russel Hobbs this time
