If you can justify the extra space it's likely to need and the higher initial cost, I'd recommend looking at combi microwaves instead of something like this. A good one can do a passable imitation of air frying to crisp up food while microwaves more efficiently cook the bulk of the food. Lot more flexible for other jobs.

Not tried toast in ours, should work but a cheap popup toaster might be a good companion for toast addicts

I wish my addictions were as cheap as toast.

Can't be an air fryer, it looks like an oven :/

An "air fryer" is an insulated vessel using electric heating elements coupled with a fan to circulate air. It keeps the cooking temps high due to the hot air blown towards it to mimic "frying" (helps boils the oil/fats on the surface of the food).

I suspect the convection ovens in the 80's were something similar, maybe fans were not as strong nor the KW as high (I dont know, i haven't looked into it), but point being its not a 'new' invention...

I bought one almost identical to this in Aldi back in 2019. It's still in its box in the garage because wifey doesn't like it & says it takes up too much room in the kitchen (spoiler alert...it doesn't!). It cost me...(drum roll)...£9.99!!!

These are great. Had one like this in the kitchen of the West wing for about 30 years and still going strong. Not same model but very sim.

Did Josh Lyman keep his toasties in it?

A whole chicken? Are you sure? it's only 12l I mean my microwave is 20l and only just fits a chicken in it (also has the oven feature). Also the picture there shows two potatoes taking up almost all the space.
