Just spotted these at B&M Sheffield. I guess they are national, but didn't check. Russell Hobbs ceramic frying pans, set of two. My mum bought them for £9.99 from Argos a few days ago(see old thread and links below) and was raving about the price, but now they are a quid cheaper! Argos had the retail price at £39.99...

Russell Hobbs set of 2 non-stick aluminium ceramic coated frying pans £9.99 Argos.

Ceramic pans are, but Russell Hobbs is not a desirable brand - it's just one that people recognise because they are a big manufacturer of kettles. There is currently loads of their stuff doing the rounds at B&M and the like; pans, knife sets, etc, and it's invariably all cheap chinese bendy tat rebadged with a brand name on that people recognise in order to to try and get sales.

I must not have had much luck with these. I bought one from B&M a couple of months ago. The non stick ceramic lasts for a few goes then seems to forget its non stick and I followed washing advice to the letter, ie no dishwashing etc.

Scratches from god knows what turned up pretty good and the handle is forever coming loose. Overall even though it says Russel Hobbs, I expected better even for a cheap price.

HOT HOT HOT ! Bargain, gonna check Bolton branch If any left ! x

Same issue here. Even the JML one lasted me 4months max. Always wash mine by hand, make sure I only use silicone utensils. I must be doing something wrong. :-/

Russell Hobbs. Good brand gone horribly wrong.

Wife refuses to have any RH branded item in the house.

Just returned any iron back after a week & toaster caught fire!

Indeed, brand names are really starting to become pretty meaningless these days as everyone licences their name out to chinese firms, who will produce stuff for them and put their name on it.

It's always happened to some degree, but it seems over the last few years it's getting ridiculous.

no they are not edible

I bought one of these pans a couple of months ago and I wasn't expecting it to last as it doesn't feel heavy enough to be decent quality. When I bought it I washed it in warm water and then dried it and then put a small amount of oil on it and rubbed it over the pan with kitchen roll. So far so good! I don't use metal kitchen spatulas and also let the pan cool before washing it (all as directed on the guidance) and so far seems fine!

Save your £8.99 mine went back after the egg stuck to the pan and would not come off until it went compleatly cold. And yes to you all, I did read the instructions and did use it properly. Buy a cast iron one they last for years or a tefal mine is still non-stick after 5years.

didn't work on my induction even though it says so
