There was a good range of some microwaves offers at sainsburys ranging from 35 for the sainsburys microwaves 17l to the Russell hubbs 25l which the highest reduction was the later from £130 to £65. Not sure if national or this is the best deal but I thought of sharing it with you

It's nationwide (also here in Aberdeen). I've only just repainted the interior of my cheapo microwave oven as I didn't have over £100 for a stainless steel one. Could have saved myself the paint fumes.Oh well.
Interior of this 25L Russell Hobbs is stainless steel.
I might get it, the next time my existing one rusts, causing zaps I'll swap it out.

You painted the interior!!!! That frightens me. To avoid rust, leave microwave door open after use. This stops the rust as it is steam that causes it.

I've had a fricking nightmare with the Panasonic Slimline Combi models I've bought from Amazon Warehouse (though I suppose most reading this will assume that's the problem).

Two of them had the same fault, cutting off mid-Combination programme - one died within days, the other just kept cutting out. Both had condensation at the digital display. I have plenty of ventilation space so couldn't figure out what was wrong - Amazon reviews had a few of the same grumbles.

Russell Hobbs I'm not sure about because they also have had Quality Control issues (eg recalls with irons, etc).

Beginning to think if I want a decent Combination microwave I'll have to spend quite a bit more.

I bought one of these about 2 years ago and it's been reliable. The microwave is spot on. The convection oven seems to under heat, so I add an extra 10 degrees to the recommended cooking temperature and add a minute or three to the cooking time, then the results are excellent.
