Similar one argos.co.uk/pro…426 for a fraction of the price. Have one, works fine, used everyday, more than 1 year in service.

Ours broke yesterday, which is why I'm looking. The other two I foudn were these

amazon.co.uk/d/K…1-1

amazon.co.uk/Coo…1-7

Add that to the argos one you just found and we will pick between the three tonight :-)

Has been £20 at Argos in the past £50 is unrealistic IMO although would have bought at £24.99 for the 3 year warranty

Nice for the bando

Why do kettle makers insist on placing the volume indicator on the left hand side? You go to fill up from the cold tap which is on the right hand side of the tap, so natural to use your right hand to turn on and off... You hold the kettle in your left. You cannot see the amount of water in the kettle unless you look in the lid. I currently have the Argos cookworks and whilst a good kettle (water gets hot!) Its annoying

Had one of these went back to a plastic kettle as the metal casing on this one got very hot.

That's a really odd comment because most people would automatically pick up the kettle in their dominant hand, i.e. the right.

I'm a left hander but pick up the kettle right handed because that's how everyone else sets it down. Mine has the water level on both sides but none of the right handers in my house instinctively choose to hold the kettle in their left hand.

I see what you mean re. the taps but probably when it was decided which tap goes on which side kettles didn't have water indicators.

You could easily swap the tap hoses round if it bothers you that much but spare a thought for left handers who just learn to live with things being designed for right handers only. Plenty of kettles with swivel bases and the water indicators on both sides BTW. Just google "kettle with water indicator both sides"

My old kettle did have them on both sides but unbeknown to me when I bought the Argos one, it was only on the left hand side... But my sink doesn't help as the drainer is on the right meaning am forced to hold it in my left hand. The joys of having a wife that forces you to buy a house you really can't afford and being stuck with cheap electrical goods.
