Purifry is a versatile way to cook your family’s favourites

Looking for a healthier, tastier, easier way to make the meals you love? The Purifry from Russell Hobbs uses clever technology to harness the cooking power of pure, fast-circulating air to cook family favourites like chips or chicken nuggets without using oil or fat. The coatings are still crispy and the taste will speak for itself.

Because there’s no oil to heat it’s so fast and convenient
The Purifry is quick and easy to use. Unlike traditional fat fryers, there’s no oil to heat so cooking time is reduced. As well as using less fat, the vapours and odours of fried food are reduced so all you enjoy is the tempting aroma of delicious cooked food.

Another goose chase.
I got one at £40, absolute garbage, mine's going back.
Just used mine! Makes perfect chips and fried new potatos!
Nice!
Spend a bit more and get a actifry
Tabletop oven. Before you need one think if you really need it..

had an actor. rubbish . paddle broke. common fault ! Philips airfry is the best by far !
actifry even. silly autocorrect
Calling it healthy is a bit of a stretch...
As far as I'm aware these are just a halogen lamp in the top and a timer. Might be better buying a proper Halogen mini cooker which will cook chips and a whole lot more for about the same money.
Bargain if you find one

Uses about half the power compared to using your main oven in your cooker.
cooks everything in about half the time
this wont cook a meal for a family of four etc but you can do enough for two people
Thoughtful

I agree, I use the philips airfryer every day. Helped me lose nine stone!
Chiiiippps!!! Mmmmmmm! :-)
Cheap as chips
This "Air" fryer is not Halogen, it has a coiled element and a fan. It also has a much larger capacity than an "Active" frying which has a turntable to turn the food to help with even cooking. However you can pull the food compartment out and give it a shake a few times during cooking and get the same effect.

The best frozen potatoes product to cook with these are wedges, you wont have to add any oil at all and they will be cooked perfectly in about 12 minutes, 14 if you like them crisper. They do oven chips well if you make sure you add some oil and toss them every now and again, fatter chips seem to work better as thin ones dry out I find.
I have never managed to get great hand cut chips. the seem more like baked than fried even when I based them in oil. Par boiling them first then re basting them in oil gives a nice roasty effect, but I've never got Golden brown crispy chips from hand cut potatoes. But then I rarely did from a deep fat fryer anyway, I don't think its easy to get a potato from a supermarket that does.

The best thing about these air fryers is how easy they are to clean compared to a a deep fat fryer. If you are fed up with a stinking stained fryer that takes a couple of hours to strip down and clean every month, then an air fryer is going to make you very happy, the outer basin washes like a saucepan, and the insert is very quick too, and they can be dishwasher cleaned if you wish, but personally I prefer to wash by hand in about 2 minutes.
