Wow

woah will check this out tomorrow. thanks op x

Good stuff
Paid 16 just for kettle
Shame I'm nowhere near a wilko

How is the toaster on this. Was wanting one but a few reviews said the toaster was too small??

RH are a crap brand but at this price its probably worth it for most (but I still wouldn't trust them or their safety)

I don't think this brand will exist this time next year...

Wowzers!

Second that.. My RH microwave literally blew up! Awful company, awful products.. I'd rather spend a bit more and have safe appliances personally!

And they covered up their safety issues until they were exposed (might've been the BBC).

Will check my local on Monday. Heated.

There was a time when Russel Hobbs was a trusted name in appliances, but over the years they have just fallen by the wayside in quality, its as if the brand has been ran down, for what reason I don't know but maybe its other brands out there that have bought it out and want to push there own name ..Who knows!

was there a lot of stock of it in the west Ealing store, thank you

They had 5 left in West Ealing yesterday afternoon.

Toaster is awful! Put setting to full & then put bread through twice to get your bread to a decent toasted brown level IMHO.

Customer service from this company is just the same. Tried to return toaster for replacement & was told to return it & my own cost & it would take 8 to 12 weeks for the toaster to be repaired or a decision on a replacement!

Make up your own mind before you purchase.

The kettle I have never had a problem with, still going strong, fingers crossed.

If there is anyone in Kilmarnock or Livingston Scotland interested in this deal your local stores have these in stock.

I just called the livingston store, they said they had none in stock................

Another respected brand that went down the pan in pursuit of profit. Wouldn't buy myself even at this price, but heat added as cheap for people who have to watch the pennies.

Thanks OP! My kettle leaks boiling water when we use it & we don't even own a toaster. I'm really skint so this is perfect for me

Embarrassing snobbish nonsense......Russell Hobbs are still making quality items....and at this price its an absolute giveaway

My microwave was les than 2 weeks out of it's warranty, it literally exploded in my face, I called their customer services and was told the same as above pretty much - they hadn't heard of any other issues (like it should matter!), and if I wanted to return it for investigation, it would need to be paid for at my expense (IE postage costs!) and if 'no fault was found', I would then need to pay to get the appliance back. They couldn't tell me what would happen if a fault WAS found - they just said they would have to get it inspected first! They didn't care remotely that the thing had blown up in my kitchen and was potentially a huge health risk! Some utter moron even asked me to operate it whilst I was on the phone, and describe what happened when it was plugged in! Utterly laughable service - this company deserve to go out of business.

I have this toaster, or one almost the same, for over 3 years now and it has worked without any problem. I do agree that it is a little small but if my local Wilko has these I will buy a set.

Russell Hounslow. awful products, awful customer service

Snobbish? Exploding irons, microwaves, toasters over the last 2 years...followed by cover ups, exposures in media, belated product recalls...

And slashing of prices to get people to buy...

snobbish?

Agree with other posters here that Russell Hobbs has become a rubbish brand - a kettle I bought last July just broke - a bit of plastic snapped off the switch and it stopped working.

Customer service pants too, told me to take it back to Argos for a refund.

If any company was behaving like that I would report the matter to Trading Standards, and take it to the small claims court. You deserve not only a full refund, but possibly compensation as well.

None in my local, I sent my hubby at 10am this morning

Bought in Dereham this morning. Non on display but when asked they checked their computer and had 8 in the stock room. Well worth asking if you don't see them on the shelf.

None in mine either dianneNE - just single items for sale at £20 each! 'Nationwide' seems to be Ealing, London!

There's a 3 year warranty those worried about purchasing

U need to use the smaller toastie bread for this one

None in my local branch this morning....judging by the comments above, I guess I was lucky!

Paid 17£ in John Lewis for this utter rubbish. It gets full of scale, it continue to boil till switching itself off but for this deal might be worth.

The only issue I heard of was the infamous recall of their irons - shame, I always thought Russell Hobbs were decent!

That is a good deal

None in Weston super Mare or Bridgwater just now

In accordance with contract law, your purchase contract is with the seller. If you bought it from Argos, what RH cutomer service told you is perfectly correct. They gave you good advice so why complain about them? You should have taken it back to Argos and if what you claim is correct would have received a refund. If you only bought it in July, you can still do that if you have it. If you don't, whose fault is that?
As has already been stated, Russell Hobbs still make some quality items, but that is causing me a problem. Our kettle, toaster and coffee percolator are chrome, all made by RH, all work perfectly and I see no reason to replace them. My wife does not agree because she now wants a set of red one for our newly decorated kitchen. As for past quality, it is true that Russell Hobbs were the top Uk brand for all 3 of thes small kichen appliances, with Morphy Richards as a close runner up for toasters and and kettles that never wore out. Times change, so now the top of the range may still be made here but the lower standard are imported from wherever! Quality still costs more, but I might be tempted to buy my wife the cheapest ones as long as they are red! (and I get to keep the old ones in a kitchen cupboard where I can reach then easily.)
