Update 1
Price drop from £287.96 to £284.42 21/05

EDIT 28/05 - Amazon US seems to have sold out. Worth double checking if you go to purchase. Now only available from a UK seller.

EDIT 26/05 - Now available from a UK seller for £290.

Very good price for a 10gb card. This has been recommended by Moors Law is Dead instead of the upcoming RX 7600 8gb, which is expected to be priced around $300 in the US market. This non-xt version is not stocked by a lot of retailers but the cheapest I could find was £360 by overlockers (which is out of stock)

EDIT 26/05 - As expected, this preforms at around the same level of the 7600, whilst having 2 more GB of vram, making it the card to go with over the 7600 at this price point. There was a 6700xt 12gb ASUS card which was the better choice, but the offer seems to have expired.

Yeah that’s a fair point. If I was having to buy a GPU now, I’d prefer the extra vram personally. (edited)

Careful, its not the XT version nor 12gb

You'd think the title stating 6700 10gb would give it away...

Judging by the picture, the power connector is on the right side? (edited)

It's the same as the XT the picture is of the other variant but they all have the same layout.

    That's £250 if accurate.

Is there a big difference between this and the 6700xt?

Looks like the RX7600 hasn't been reviewed favourably today. It's on par, more or less, with a 6650XT.

I'm sorely tempted to grab this card now, as it has 10GB of VRAM (more than the 66xx and 7600 GPU's) and theoretically has similar GPU grunt as a PS5. It'll be going in my son's machine and I want it to last him at least 3-4 years running a 1080p 144hz screen. It'll be an upgrade from an RX5700 (non XT), which I'm planning on selling to recoup some of the costs for this card

There is a deal on here for a ASUS 6700xt; with cash back it brings it to the same price as this if that interests you.

The 6700 has ONE big advantage- it's the (very) cool'n'quiet variant of the chip. Now look at the cooling.

Go check the cooling solutions on the coming 4060 and 4060TI cards (also at the low end of power consumption for GPUs that can actually- sort of- AAA game).

WHY are these cards given such massively over-the-top cooling solutions? (Which, by the way, cost LESS than 10 dollars for the manufactures- despite what tech shill influencers claim). It is all a mind game, crafted by psychologists employed by AMD and Nvidia marketing departments to make fools think it makes sense to pay much more for GPUs than they are actually worth.

Yes, there ARE variants with two fans (and even very rarely, one fan). And yes, if you are paying the Earth, and have the case room, you might as well have the 'quietest' cooling solution. But the point is these cards are purposely made massive and over-the-top since those aspects cost PENNIES compared to the GPU die and VRAM- but encourage the hard-of-thinking to think the card needs to cost vastly more than it actually does when real die costs and VRAM costs are taken into account.

The 6700, with a sensible design, could sell for 150, and still make AMD a massive profit. And this goes double (or treble) for Ngreedia cards, of course.

So do you recommend this card at this price or not?

Good card and price, I have a powercolor one I got last year for approx £330, I don't think you can do any better for a sensible amount of money.

Nice thank you. Look forward to the reviews.

    £284 now.

My lad paid 320 odd from Overclockers last November for Sapphire 6700 he's pretty impressed with it.

He got Callisto Protocol & Dead Island 2 with it so that saved him 100 quid which he would have spent.

He knows a developer and said everything was going FSR & DLSS so this would do 1080p for him for few years and when he goes pcie x4 he can get little bit more out of it.

if AMD wanted to dominate the mid range they should have put 12 GB RAM and sold this at sub 300

that would destroy anything Nvidia could offer. No one is going to buy an 8 GB card when the PS5 is 16 gb.... you expect a mid range PC card to offer console peasant level performance at least

as it stands. the 8gb 7600 will be DOA. the 4060 ti will be DOA. the 16 gb 4060 ti for 500 will be DOA. the 4060 8 gb might sell, but that's basically buying a card that wont run AAA games well, I'm expecting it to be DOA

I wont lie though, if everything is DOA and AMD sell this below 200, ill still buy it lol

    you may ask why

Funny enough, the 6700 non xt seems to be the exact gpu chip that PS5 is using (I know ps5 has an APU before I get hounded in the comments by Somersett) .
iceberg tech did an interesting video. 16gb on ps5 is shared between GPU and Memory, I don't think it can allocate it all to GPU tho. (edited)

Buy this or a now £340 6700XT as the 7600 is poor, be ok when its £200 lol.
    S_Kelly's avatar
Or the £240 (and dropping) 6650XT if you're okay with 8Gb.

This was my initial thought too. Get the better card out the way so the only option is the new one.

having an rx 5700 .. any value in updating for some casual gaming / flight sim ? paired with an 5900x
    RastaMouse2015's avatar

Honestly, I'n not too sure; it depends on a lot of factors. Resolution being one, and what FPS you're aiming for being another (I know Microsoft flight sim is quite a demanding game).

I would have a look on some of the more specific pc forums / have a look for some comparison videos on youtube for Microsoft flight sim.

Worth upgrading from 3050? Or should i wait for 7600 to launch and prices to come down?
