It is a really good camera, I own it myself. Comes handy as you can always carry it in your pocket and the photos are superb.

No viewfinder. Best of luck in bright light. Not voting.

I suggest to read the reviews or try to get hold of one, you will see.

superb camera. Yes using it in bright light can be a pain without a viewfinder, but so will every other camera that competes with it- there is no other premium compact for under £300 that offers a viewfinder with image quality that's as good to the RX100 in such a pocketable package. Asking for more at this price is being a bit too demanding.

I use a Ricoh GR as my pocket camera and don't mind relying on an LCD in bright light. If I know composition and framing are going to be a priority I'll grab my bag and 70D.

I use one of these on my RX100-

Shot a Red Arrows display on Bournemouth beach on a very bright day with absolutely no problem.

I have the RX100 and it is an amazing camera but the lack of viewfinder is annoying. But that isn't unique to the Sony. I don't actually know of any camera competitive with the Sony that offers one. Any ideas?

I am finding it much cheaper on Google shopping search at a number of retailers. Are they imported?

It's grey import stock from what I can tell, and I would wager anything else that cheap would be.

I got my rx100 from Amazon at 299.99. I find these rx100s get dust in the lens and I like having Amazon replace it when that happens

How many times have you had it replaced? I take it you only get one year to send it back?

considering this or lf1 which has viewfinder, specs for rx100 says it has " white magic" screen for easy view in sun light.

RX100 screen is much better than most in sun light. Takes great pictures and good price, voted hot!

I was making the exact same consideration and after reading endless reviews and comparing images on flickriver I was swayed by the the bigger sensor and better lens of RX100. I think it depends what you want out of the camera but I was prepared to live without wifi, NFC and EVF. My criteria was a capable portable camera that I can have with me at all times with the additional bonus of being USB chargeable. I really wanted the RX100M3 as that ticked every box but was just a bit too pricey.
