How is it 'out of the way' ?
Unless you live within walking distance of Glasgow International airport (Which is really Paisley), then you have to get a bus or taxi from Paisley Gilmour Street station.
A train from Glasgow Central, passing through Paisley, will stop at Prestwick, the only airport in Scotland to have it's own station.
If you think that's out of the way, then how about places like Heathrow and Gatwick ? You might be able to get there easily (Never mind it's an expensive journey on the Gatwick express, or around an hour from Central London to Heathrow on the underground), but what about walking what seems like miles to the terminal and the departure gates ?

Some people own cars you know.

you get reduced fare on the trains if you show your boarding pass or booking confirmation

Any recommendations on places to stay in Barcelona, hotels seem to be quite pricey. Is it better to look in neighbouring towns for hotels?

What's your nightly budget? IMO it's rarely worth staying outside the city on a short break as you'll have to pay transport costs and lose a lot of time travelling backwards and forwards..
We stayed in Aparthotel Silver in Gracia last time and were really happy with the location and the room - around £70 a night.

When do they send the 34 quid? I'm assuming that's the money they give you for having to go to Scotland and Spain.

I would still consider Prestwick out of the way compared to Glasgow.

I'm 15 miles from Glasgow and 40 miles from Prestwick. Much easier getting picked up/dropped off when it's only 15 miles. Also, a taxi to Glasgow is only about £18 would be easily £45 to Prestwick.

Hot deal!

Cheaper than the coach and it won't take 3 days.

thanks just booked a break in marrakesh for 45

I am going to Barcelona next month and I am staying in Hotel Constanza, which is £70 a night (plus, 10% cashback through TCB) which is in a perfect central location, in Plaza Catalunya.

steady on....

it's a 50 quid taxi from the centre of Glasgow to PIK or a 15 quid one to GLA..... calling PIK Glasgow is a joke. With the M74 tie up getting to GLA from the south side is a quick and easy journey. Getting to PIK from the north side is a 1-1.5 hour journey. I think the statement "it's a bit out of the way" is more than accurate.
