The Kipsta one from Decathlon is cheaper (£3.99) and looks cooler too:

It's not only Ryanair, Wizzair does the same and so do others.

I do wish that there was a mandatory size for cabin and under seat bags common to all airlines because the chopping and changing from year to year by a centimetre here and there is getting on my nerves.
Thanks for the decathlon bag, that looks handy! I've been to Portugal 5x in the last year, longest I survived was 2 weeks with the 10kg carry on and a small bag but the decathlon looks handy!

I've used Ryanair every time, paying either £4.99 or £9.99 each way, from east midlands, never had a delay or problem at all.

Thanks, I just order this and the 60L one for only £1.50 more than the bag listed. Only had the red in 60L, 20L red was sold out everywhere, which is a shame as looked cool.

either way, great bags for the car for me, but will serve lots of purposes. Thank you for linking it.

Heat, I've a couple similar to these, prefer the zip front pocket, just the right size for passport /boarding pass, and the straps at back sit over the handle if you have cabin luggage so easy to transport, good price 👌
I bought what looks like exactly the same one from eBay from another seller. It was totally terrible. Broke from several places before we'd departed and zip broke whilst on holiday.

I have another which is a different make, looks similar, and that was much better.

Everyone does this though but it's less handy in summer, especially when travelling to hotter climes. Being a sweaty mess is only going to attract the attention of security for extra checks.

You don't have to wear it all the time. Put it on only when boarding the plane, once you have showed your passport and passed the gate staff take it off and put it in a bag. Don't fly Ryanair/Wizzair that often but did that with other airlines too, sometimes don't even bother putting on my heavy jacket that has full pockets of stuff, just have it in some sort of bag, they see it is jacket inside, nobody cares nor bothers to bug you.
Untill they change/reduce the size requirements again... Although you would be getting in early when this is the size allowed for the overhead bins.
News just in .. Michael o Leary is yer again looking to reduce handluggage size to this

There's lots of stuff that needs standardised. I thought I had cheap flights to America until I got to the set reservation section... £200 per person to reserve a seat for an international flight, or we will split your family up at the gate!

More often than not if you select seats as soon as online check in is open (usually 24 hours prior) there’s lots of availability and no fee. I fly long haul regularly and do this whether solo or with family, or else make note of airlines on route that don’t charge. Even 5* airlines like emirates do now, and it’s per leg if you have a connection

I'll be trying to do this but it's more stress than I need, particularly on the return leg when I'm trying to check in with only a phone.

left one airline (Norwegian) because they wanted 200 a seat and would guarantee any of us got seated together as a policy if the flight was full if we didn't rserve seats. In the end i flew BA as their policy at least guaranteed the children would be sat together with an the adult.
Aye but you would need to check in online for the return leg regardless? I just factor the fees into the fare as often the cheapest headline fare works out more expensive with these hidden extras

This one is bigger, does it still meet the Ryanair size limit for carry on
This'll be ok for a couple months till they decide theyre not making enough money

but in all honesty a shoebox would be a more permanant solution

I've got one of these that I've used a couple of times for Ryanair flights. Unfortunately, I found the shoulder strap too uncomfortable once you load the bag up with all the things you might need for your trip. I've opted now to use a 25 litre rucksack instead, which, because it is behind your back at the gate, never seems to attract too much attention. It can also be made to fit the bag sizing gauge quite easily even if its overall dimensions don't meet the official requirements.

Airlines have a responsibility to sit children as close to their parent as possible.

I'm fairly sure the flight crew would seat the kids with an adult whatever the airline policy...

Are you checking in online, or rocking up on the day with a big family?

Been on Ryanair twice now. Best airline for the price in my opinion. Flights on Ryanair cost me less than a Day Travelcard into London.

Very efficient service also.

This is it, why do be people get worked up over them ... They charge hardly anything to cart you half way around Europe for about £20.

I'd pay more than that if they'd split my family up.
Cheaper at Ryman’s
Ryanair are decent company..no prices in Asia or America can be as close às their...I always was dreaming why they are only in EU.. when was paying 100$ for 500km flights
ryanair.com/gb/en/useful-info/baggage/bag-policy for those asking about official sizing. Apparently their bag checker for the free bag is a good 2cm in ever direction more.

CabinMax do a rucksack specially designed for Ryanair underseat dimensions. A bit pricey but a great sturdy bag that can fit a lot.

They don't mention any weight limit. Though with the size you'll struggle to get 10kg in it, unless you're packing gold bullion bars, eg.

In some companies that's the second bag, under the seat. In Wizzair, it's the only allowance. For a cabin bag, you have to pay extra.
