hey folks, moving into a new flat soon and was wanting to get myself kitted out with basic stuff... is this fairly decent for a cheap drill or is it even worth the bother?

silverline, challenge, ryobi etc are good for rare usage. if a frequent diy'er splash out on a black and decker/dewalt.

Nonsense Black & Decker are no better than ryobi. I agree though that Siverline & Challange are hardly worth bothering with.

Ryobi, Black & Decker and Bosh all make a reasonable quality range for DIY. They are quite usable for the typical home jobs of putting shelves up etc. Although I would personally go for the 18v designs if you plan on using the hammer action to drill holes in walls.

If you want something that professional standard you have to go for the expensive lines like Matika, Bosh Professional or Dewalt.
