Ryobi 18v, 50+ torque, Li-on battery, 13mm keyless chuck, cordless hammer drill - £49.98 @ B&Q
£49.98B&Q Deals
This deal was previously posted a few weeks ago then expired. A very good price for a good bit of kit.....not quite pro standard but blows others in this price range clean out the water. Online they show as out of stock etc, but they ARE available in some stores if you go in and ask them to check. The model number is LLCDI1802-L13G. The B&Q code is 4892210127525. Ask staff to check with these codes and they should be able to locate them (if the store has them). They have been 'discontinued' but in fact are exactly the same as the Ryobi's you'll see piled up on display in the power tools section for £80......the only difference is you don't get the cheap black bag that the 'new' one comes with.
Be very careful you get the right one as there are a few different variations. Only this one scans as £49.98. There is a good chance you they will not be on display so you may have to get a staff member to hunt them down.
Great Western Road branch in Glasgow had over half a dozen stored away above the other drills. The guys at the fire desk know where they are and were very helpful earlier in helping me purchase one. As I got mine handed down to me another guy who was perusing the Ryobi drills immediately asked for one when he was told the price.
Here is a link to the B&Q page (though you can't reserve and it will say no stock):

Here is the thread from a few weeks ago for the same item:

If I had known about this then I may have bought two of these instead for an extra £10
Don't forget about the over 60's discount, I took my dad to pick one up and paid about £82 in total
Nope. Japanese not German. Founded in Hiroshima prefecture in '43. The Ryobi Tools brand, though, is owned by Techtronic Industries HK.
Yes, they cover the battery.
I bought the TJ Hughes deal (this drill with two batteries) posted here a couple of years ago. Both batteries failed after a couple of months never having been used. Ryobi replaced both promptly and without quibble.
Erm.... this is a Li-Ion battery and not Li-Po.....
Li-Ion not Li-Polymer.
The Ryobi P103 battery contains five 18650 cells for example, and the latter P107 is likely very similar. More info here toolboyworld.com/eBa…htm
That's not to say that some DIYers haven't replaced the internals of Ryobi batteries with stacks of Lithium Polymer cells, but I think that was the bigger Ryobi battery to start with.
Beware buying refurbished batteries from China, they seem to have a habit of "recycling" 18650 cells from dead laptop batteries. See this thread forums.overclockers.com.au/sho…287 and particularly follow the links there to the photos of the Chinese refurbs e.g. picasaweb.google.com/lh/…ink
They said yes we have 3 in stock.
I said fine I'm coming to collect now.
Got there they had 1 in stock and had faulty sticker on it so manager have me new model for same price
Great customer service.
Got one in B&Q St Helens this afternoon in preparation for some DIY tasks this weekend. Again it wasn't on display but a very helpful chap identified it from the web page on my tablet and reappeared with a huge orange ladder to get one down from 'above'. He said it was a new model and hadn't been put out on display yet....
sorry my bad, this is the one I have, two battery in one year, all the tradesmen in work wont touch them, most run the blue makita
Sounds like you were looking at the wrong one... either that or the offer has finished but given people above have purchased one today, seems unlikely.
You was looking at this seasons model which came with the bag.
The old one says reduced on the shelf. Best thing to do is ring a store with the b&q number. They are happy to reserve them over the phone
I'm looking for 1 drill that will be suitable for drilling wood, plaster walls, as well as drilling through brickwork for cabling.
Cheers
Just got one from Aylesbury branch, they had 3 more left!
Many Thanks to the deal poster
looking at buying a cordless drill and also electric screwdriver
was looking at the challenge one on Argos at £35 + £10 for the 4.8v electric screwdriver but just wanted to ask about this product as clearly spec wise (and build) its probably superior
1) can i use this as an electric screwdriver as well normal drill
2)how long does the battery take to take to fully charge and does it stop auto automatically when full
3) can anyone explain the torque ratings as some say soft, some hard, what the difference, will this do brickwork on a 50 year old house
4) also is see on another thread there is a £10 voucher if i take my dad (sure his lot older than 50) can i use the £10 voucher as he already has a OAP card for B&Q.
thanks
From my initial opinion feels well built and weighs 1850 grams with the battery or1400 grams without it.
The drill and battery has a German address on it so maybe made in Germany? which would be a bonus as was expecting made in PRC
comes with 1.3 ah battery model number RB18L13
Charger is model number BCL14183H
1)can use as screwdriver(but You know that already right)!
2)charger does appear to be a smart charge and switches off when complete
3)torque showing on box as 50nm
If anyone in this area wants one, according to the B&Q stock system, there were 3 left in both the Cheltenham and Gloucester stores. None left in Swindon (although stock system said 1 left, but they could not find it).
For the money it is very very good.
Build quality is decent and it does what its supposed to.
