Was helping a mate out with some DIY yesterday and he had the Bosch IXO which seemed pretty darn good for a small piece of kit. Came home to research them and came across the deal for the Ryobi.

No idea if Ryobi are a good make and better than Bosch?

Anyway Amazon have it for £52+ and other places also have it for quite a bit more.

Unlike the Bosch IXO, this has torque settings which is handy.

Don't forget Quidco / TCB for an extra 3.5%

What is included: 4v Lithium-ion Screwdriver 6 Piece Bit Set Charger & Tool Bag

Yeah Ryobi are pretty good

you can get a torque adaptor for the bosch, although it costs extra

I've had one of there for a couple of years - possibly the most useful thing i have in my site toolbox. No kidding.

These are very good. They are far better than most electric screwdrivers you find in places like B&Q.

Battery lasts ages, good torque and light. Good reviews on Amazon too.

I have one of these and paid £17 from Amazon for it, its a great tool but way to expensive. cold

Cold because op's turn of phrase "the Ryobi", as if to imply it is a recognized respected model of battery screwdriver in the same paragraph as the god that is the "Bosch IXO"

You wouldn't call tesco value table wine "the Tesco" unless you'd tasted it.

/awkward pedantic git yes, but even so.

They are both excellent. The Ryobi does have a higher voltage, higher torque rating (along with the ability to set a torque level) and a better release system for the bits. For this price, I'd go with the Ryobi every time.

I had this Ryobi and have had a couple of different model Bosch Ixos in the past. I much preferred the Ryobi as it was more powerful, had adjustable torque settings and the bit holder mechanism was much better. Currently using a Bosch GSR driver which beats both hands down but is quite a bit more expensive.

Thanks OP, I bought one and it is very nice.

Variable torque is very useful (torque adapter for IXO is about £10 and clunky). The pouch is a nice touch too, enough space for drill plus charger, included bits, extra bit set, etc.

I also got a keyless chuck system to use standard drill bits:
amazon.co.uk/Tre…uck

Useful for drilling pilot holes in to wood without having to get a proper drill out.

Not Expired. I got one myself this morning.
