Cordless multi tool-the one with the rotating head, not a great price but still the first time I’ve seen this on offer and cheaper than it had been recently

I have this. It's not very powerful. Great for plasterboard but can struggle with floorboards unless it's a brand new quality blade.

Got a cheap 25 quid corded unit off eBay which works much better for big stuff.
Agree with you but not allowed 230v on building sites

This is or the Makita DTM51Z multi tool
100% the makita. This is also really good though and a good price.

    Oops.  This has been amended.
The Makita DTM51Z ‘compatible’ is probably a better bet at half the cost (£38, incl. a supposedly 5yr UK warranty).
There have been so many reports of the Ryobi models overheating / failing, that l would not even consider this multi-tool at all, even with all the ryobi tools l have.
.. or for £82 you can get a 6Ahr compatible battery and charger incl.
Ryobi is actually quite expensive for just a consumer brand

… Even though l have a wide range of Ryobi 18v equipment from drills and circular saws to chainsaws and mowers.
… The least reliable are the drills, as now well noted for loosing bits due repeat loosening of the chuck!
.. Whereas my best tool, is my Ryobi 18v chainsaw! (edited)

I have this, rotating head is a game changer and allows for much greater control when trying to be more precise during cutting. Great purchase at this price!

Good if you have batteries and charger, if not I would go for ebay.co.uk/itm…OPY £82 with code (edited)

    This or Dewalt DCS355N (edited)
This is a bare tool, so it actually depends if you have any batteries, or not. I stuck to ryobi tools and for a hobbyist i find them good enough.

Dewalt every time. You can pick it up on Amazon for £79.99 if you time it right
