Bought mine for £90ish and have found trimming overhanging branches easy with this.
Manages 4-5" with no problem.

I wouldn't have bought one if I didn't already have the battery from other tools tbh, but there are some battery copies which get fair reviews on Amazon. I don't know what they're like personally

Extended to the full 4 metres it would be very difficult to control and apply pressure to the cutting blade at the other end.
Brilliant - bought a Ryobi ONE+ lawnmower from Homebase last year which came with 2 x 18V 5.0A Batteries ... great piece of kit!

It's closer to 3m extended, from memory. The extra reach is outstretched arms! It can be a bit unwieldy as it's top heavy but they all are.

Cutting wise, the weight of the saw is more than enough for green wood. Just need to make sure you don't trap the blade in the cut when the branch moves.
