Been looking for new SDS hammer still for a while as my old wired Ryobi one has seen better days. Popped into Reading Makro the other day and they had a load Ryobi One + system tools on offer.

I got the SDS drill for just £31.20 (inc vat). The cheapest I've seen it online is around £80. I also got the 1.5Ah battery + charger kit £40.80 (inc vat), they are around £70th elsewhere. Just the 1.5Ah battery were Just £30. Had some other stuff but I didn't need them.

Everyone knows someone with a makro card !

no results for Ryobi on their website??

Original Poster

It's not on the website. In store only. I went to the Reading branch.

Got this for £39.99 in Sheffield store last week

I take it from the price and the picture that it's a bare unit (no battery)?

cracking little drill, good torque.

Vary good deal if you have Ryobi batteries already, otherwise I wouldn't buy it.
I am aware however that the price for this particular product is very low.

As a joiner/builder your wrong. Not only do I use these but know many many many with them. Personaly I use the 2.6a batteries which last forever but also have the advatage of the built in life indicator. I've got almost all of the tools, the only useless one is the circular saw, not enough grunt with 18v, ok for plywood etc though. The best tools are the grinder and the Impact driver.

I agree also, I work in the trade and use their products daily. They are solid, plus the lithium battery is seemingly endless in life.
