£481..... THERE PRICE BUILT inc 3 Years warranty £483...

The stryker is one which i most often POST, as it changes.. its a live item up/down on parts

here we have the rx580.... its a nice product and a very reliable product, , budget 1600 which is an AF CPU, so together a nice bundle and very good price in prebult terms..

# ADD WIFI IF NEEDED.
# ADD WINDOWS YOURSELF NOT VIA CCL.

Also have a play around with the storage, u can remove the SSD complete if non of them take your fancy or go higher, they are all good prices, add another from elsewhere if theres any offers and to do so u must add a 1TB HDD to remove the ssd selection completely ,

very reliable PSU and one personally recommend for that ultimate budget build.

The case takes 2 front fans, 2 top fans, 1 rear inc, what u can do, :

normal what i suggest is whack in 2 cheap Arctic F12 Case Fan in the front, 2 Arctic F12 Case Fan on top and 1 Generic Halo Dual Ring 120mm Fan with 18 RGB LEDs

and overall u got yourself a nice sweet pc.

so order 3 arctics as one is included, and a 1 halo on the rear, place all in one basket with your PC and complete as one payment, when u get your invoice, click reply and give them the layout.

PS: you can top this up to make this a nice sweet 2700 / 3600 pc too, price are bang on with value difference between them all ( i wouldn't bother with the 2600 as the 1600AF is basicly that in performance.)

upgrade to the 1660Super or the 2060... for the ulitmate 1080 PC

I'd say this is still very capable at 1080p gaming. Also certainly easily upgradable with a B450 board in there. So you can just pop in a Ryzen 3000 series when you are ready.

This add on always seems like a bargain for £22 for 3 years to me. Esp. if you are not that great with PCs and a bit nervous it might go wrong but you want it up and running quickly.

cpu.userbenchmark.com/ Only used this one in the past. May be other options, but worth a shot. One day I'm gonna get in the top 5%
UserBenchMark is good for noobs, to see if they are going in the right direction!, if its a toss up between 2 items very identical, more research is needed elsewhere as they will fav some lines over the other spec diff brands,, but if the gap is a wide birth it can be helpfull for folks in the know, also its a good indicator for like for like on brand as itll show a rough guide on the jump up or down, but dont take the gap with all its heart
,
u can also use: userbenchmark.com/PCB…der

where u can tap in2 dif systems to see the gaps, if ur going in the right direction, but take a note of the above,
if you are comparing cpu/gpu vs cpu/gpu..... select the highest available SSD/hdd option whats under £60..., dont mess about with one having this ram and another having that ram, as the ram selection complete ruins the guide.

Very interesting, I'm looking to build a gaming PC for my son next month and this is almost identical to my planned build: uk.pcpartpicker.com/use…ed/

Is 16gb RAM the minimum these days?

16gb is the min and 3000mhz too for ryzen.
Userbenchmark changed their score weightings last year in a highly controversial manner - so much so that many comparisons between Intel and AMD CPU have become almost laughable (the number of cores apparently doesn't matter any more - it's all about clock speed according to them). Tom's Hardware has an interesting article on this.

You could look at PassMark or even AnandTech's CPU review benchmark results as better alternatives.

Anyone know if this would be a good machine to pair with an oculus quest via oculus link?

It'll work. Some games you'll need to dial settings right back (I had a similar performing 1060 and had to run no man's sky and project cars 2 at near minimum settings on my Vive to get any where near 90fps, upgraded to a 2060 in the end)
Hi, I have been looking through recent deals posted and decided to buy only yesterday with almost identical spec, only difference I chose the seagate 480GB SSD for additional £21 bringing the total build to £505. Whats the advantage of the additional fans - should I include fans??
By the way special thanks to sarden, followed your posts and advice. Never had a gaming pc, was mainly looking to replace ageing desktop for everyday tasks and thought might try a bit of gaming, thought this would be future proof for my needs - at least for a while

CONFIRMED
This build looks ideal for myself as I'm on a really tight £500 budget. However I have one question, I want to get a GeForce card but dont know how much performance I am sacrificing. The 4GB Nvidia card is the same price as the 8GB Radeon.....is there a gulf in performance? I want the Nvidia card as I have a Shield that I have never used for Steam gaming. All and any advice welcomed!

Not after a gaming rig but something that would be good for video editing. Would this spec also be good for that?

You can get it plenty of legit places for sub £100 though. It’s £24.98 on groupon right now for example.

What did CCL provide? Home edition?

By clicking customise, you can get the GTX 1650 SUPER with 4GB GDDR6 which performs between a Radeon rx 580 and the rx 590 at 1080p. The next step up would be the GTX 1660 SUPER (forget the non super) with 6GB of GDDR6 which comfortably performs better than the rx 590. Both are late 2019 models and run efficiently.
suggest advice: stick with the RX580.. then a 1650 super, ive tested both and the 1650 super is a nice fine card and does beat the RX580 in FPS terms on gaming at the same settings by a little bit, however the 8GB DDR on the RX580 will come into play more as we enter the next chapter, plus the resale value of the RX580 due to the popularity plays a factor, same basis as the 1600AF which is a 6core 12 thread CPU, its not the fastest CPU in the market, but offers decent core value and performance for the cost for that ultimate budget build and as the market is gonna go though a good development change within the next 2 years, this combo would last quite along time everything points in the correct direction, so a nice ultimate budget build to last quite abit, and obviously for others its in the right direction should they wish to upgrade any part. cracking budget PSU and the MB is perfectly fine one which ive tested over 50units on,

Give them a call to add in the fans i suggest, keeps the whole system cooler, fresh intake fans send cool air to the components while also pushing though hot air to the rear, heat will rise anyway but tops fans help to exhaust this negative air quicker to allow a much smooth optimization of air.. better temps, smoother game play and longevity.

just given advice on the above RX580 / 1650.. which would be my recommendation, however if you want a Nvidia go for it, as stated the 8GB will last longer in games which require more ram as times goes on but the super does beat the RX580 today,

if you can afford extra the 1660 Super is beast of a card for 1080 performance and now a nice price,... only just come in to play for these budget builds, last month i would not of suggest the 1660 super prebuilds as they were expensive.

Would be interested to know this also! Anybody??
Recently upgraded from a build like this only it was the original 1600. Excellent specs for 1080p gaming at 60fps. Even better with a freesync monitor so eliminate stuttering when it falls below that.

itll be a fantastic budget pc for video editing, TBH, maybe for some a little overkill and then on the other foot a 4K video editor who does a lot would benefit from the likes of the addtional cores of the 2700 so it depends on how intensive you really are, i suggest in this case go for the likes of the 1650S, as NVidia are better productive cards, on like for like versions.

Why it sad? The £5 keys work perfectly fine and you could just spend the money you save on improved hardware or a monitor etc what's not to like.

I have never had a problem with the keys from eBay either even after years of use.
I did call, however I was advised that additional fans cannot be fitted to this case. There is one on the rear of the case which is sufficient. Cases /builds are tested for heat build up and if any problems are identified in the future then they would contact to advise changing fan on the ( CPU? )
Any point in giving them a ring to get a price for 590 upgrade? Should only be a few quid right.

This one time, when someone wanted an RX590 Fatboy inside the mini bolt (its part of the normal bolt case one, aka stryker)

You might be quoted a £25 customisation fee has the rx 590 isnt listed as one of the parts, on top of the price of the rx 590. Or atleast this happend to me.
there is a £25 customisation fee if u do too many changes,

it depends on who u speak to, depends on the product, some have changed products using my advice on older lines, and have done so without any charges except the gap price i have in the past, its worth investigating,... i guess its the case perhaps some call centre advice are happy but when they get a load of folks keep ringing, well.. these ccl builds have been populer.
Edited by: "sarden84" 18th Feb
Called again and got helpful response from someone who took time to speak to the Tech who builds the PC. He also advised that despite manufacturer spec the fans will not physically fit due to their depth rather than 120mm width. He recommended changing the case to Aero Cool Cylon Mini Gaming Case (CCL Code: CAS3535) and fitting x2 Arctic F12 fans, which I have done.
Thanks for your help

Hardly. The home market for Windows sales is nothing compared to business, one of the richest companies in the world. They already offer free versions of Windows with ads. And even the full paid versions have bloaty crap and candycrush/other fremium crap as default.

I haven't paid for Windows since about 2005. MS let you download the latest version from their site for free, just use Rufus or something similar to make a bootable USB installation. Then activate it with KMS_VL_ALL. Microsoft couldn't give a toss. It's not even a drop in the ocean.
