Price seems to have gone up now to £74.

My pc died a couple of days ago so I need to build a new one, but I'm totally confused about all of the Ryzen chips. Some are assigned G, some X, some have not at all i.e., 2400, 2400G and 2400X.

I want built in graphics and am not a gamer but would like something that has decent power for the odd video encoding and photo editing, plus some very occasional gaming. Can somebody recommend the best chip I should go for for value pound for pound, with built in graphics and cooler?

Also the best mobo, ideally with the latest bios as I really don't want the hassle of getting another chip in order to update the bios? Anybody know which places sell mobos with the latest bios already upgraded?

Cheers!

If you want integrated graphics you want one ending with G. I haven't used it but supposedly the 2400G is pretty good for the price if you want something AMD.

Thanks - explains it very simply to a simple bozo like me! I've seen a mobo and ram 2400g bundle on Amazon for £300 which comes with latest bios and ready to go, which seems reasonable. one more question - I seem to recall reading something a while back stating there may be a problem using some PSUs, something to do with the number of pins required to connect to the mobo. I have a decent PSU but wonder if it may not be compatible with the mobo. I've no idea what my PSU brand or model number is but has anyone heard of problems with existing PSUs not fitting newer mobos?

Cheers.
What would be a good build to accommodate this which has a good balance of price and speed?

Nothing to worry about PSU wise. Is that deal with 16gb of ram? If it's only 8gb then that's a poor deal. Make sure you get 3200mhz ram as Ryzen really benefits from fast ram.

Yeah that's 8gb but it is 3200mhz. Seemed like a decent deal as I'd struggle to buy the components cheaper myself and it comes ready to go with the latest bios. I'm not a gamer so don't really need 16gb.
Can someone please suggest a few mid-range (especially in price) full-ATX motherboards to go with this?

Here's a list of compatible ones from 6 manufacturers: cpu-upgrade.com/CPU…tml

Thanks very much
