Or the 2700x, with a tomahawk max

Someone on here has predicted a price of under £140 for it, not long now
the 3600 is £178.99 on Amazon at the moment

Go for the 3700X. Great multi threaded performance and great for gaming even when single threads come into play.

I have a 1tb HDD and 2 x 4gb crucial DDR3 ram in a laptop I could use if I have to, to stay in budget. Other than that just what I mentioned in my op.

you've disable private messages, but I am parting with my rig now (as I am hunting for deals here for a new one), loved and cared for Would be a very much better setup that you could build brand new (just my GPU is ~£200). I am not a player of very demanding games, but let's say in "the outer worlds" this setup works like a bee on high/ultra (pretty hot tho ).

Motherboard: Asus H81I-PLUS

CPU: Intel i5 4460 Quad Core, 3.20GHz, 6MB Cache, 84W (not this gen, but so far served me right)

RAM: Corsair CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R Vengeance Pro Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600Mhz (It's RAM... Highers that the MB supports)

GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX VEGA 56 Pulse 8GB HBM2 PCI-Express (great mid range card)

SSD: Samsung 2.5-Inch 250 GB 850 EVO SATA (starts to windows in like 13-15s)

HDD: WD 1TB 3.5 inch Internal

PSU: Corsair 600 Watt Builder Series CX 600 Modular (built like a rock)

Case: Corsair 250D Mini ITX (love mini ITX sizes, hope it's your thing too)

Screen: Acer XZ271bmijpphzx 27" Wide 1080p/144hz Curved (for some reason i need to switch it off at the socket, otherwise works great)

Would part for all of this for £450 and would throw in a wifi adapter (if I can find it at home) for free. It's actually less than I could get if I parted it on ebay, but hey! tis a season, eh?

PM me if interested. Location London, so pick up should not be a problem.
Might finally be time to retire my trusty i7 2600k - will see what deals happen on the 3600
