The AMD Ryzen 3rd gen processors give you a huge boost in power over the previous generation. You'll get a faster CPU with more memory – perfect for gaming, or just powering through huge work projects and creative tasks.

The Ryzen 7 3700X also supports PCIe 4.0 connectivity. So you're futureproofed for the most advanced motherboards, graphics and storage. When it's time to upgrade your PC again – your processor will still be ready to go.

There's an RGB Wraith Prism cooler in the box too – one less thing to worry about when you're building your PC.

Esports DUO. Exactly what I did. Blender screams now, so happy.

This is a great price. Even cheaper than three CCL eBay deal from a week ago (which I managed to snag).

But you should only get this if you have actual productivity / content creation needs. Otherwise, save money and get the 3600.
Done well to keep it at 65w .. the older 2700x is 95w+

Least it's quiet and cheap. Looks alright to me.

And performs very well. Not much else you could ask for at £30

Yeah, didn't expect priced so low.
AMD just announced discounts $25 to $50, not sure if that's reflected in this, but expect prices to drop or stay low like this.

Amd has also confirmed that it will discount them in other countries as well but discount could be a bit different....

The 3700'X' is the r7 2700 non 'X' version of the 7nm chips. Basically until the frequency is pushed to the bottom of the voltage wall (where MUCH more power is needed for tiny diminishing returns) they are very efficient.
The 3800 'X' is the agressively set up 7nm version of the 2700'X'.
Its also worth noting this 'Thermal Design Power' rating is only actually a guide for
O.E.M.'s (Dell etc) so they know what they can get away with cooling wise.
Those O.E.M.'s also with some boards use power limiting software (so the chips will run slower in production and all core applications).
On an after market board the 2700 and 3700X will deffo use more than 65 watts when maxed out, there are only a few B450 motherboards that have the chops to handle any 8 core long term.
