If you aren't bothered about the pre-built testing you can buy the motherboard and CPU:

It's not a bad deal at all. Just over £500 for an 8 core CPU, mobo and 32GB of RAM is very good value.
Shame it isn't an x570 mobo
Some weird pricing in these prebuilt combos - 3600x with tomahawk max is cheaper than 3600 and with the code makes it cheaper than you can buy them for !
Wouldn't be surprised if these bundle offers just part of some shelf clearing scheme/process.

Both the 3600X & 3800X are terrible choices for their price as retail purchases and probably are at the bottom of the sales figures, with the former quite literally having nothing better than the 3600 other than a slightly better (but not difference in price better) stock cooler model, while the 3800X literally cannot have better binned cores than the 3700X because those would have been expressely reserved for the 3950X, Threadripper and/or Epyc CPUs.

First link throws a HTTP 500 for me, but that could be one of the ad/tracker blocking measures breaking it.

Honestly I don't know as I haven't done a self build in years, my last machine was an i7-4700 and an off the shelf one at that out of lazyness/lack of time.

Btw the MSI B450 Tomahawk shows as EOL for me when I search for it, so that might be worth taking into consideration. (or Not given it supports the CPU anyway)

3700X is the sweet spot for the money, 3800x your talking 100mhz out of the box

No, what I mean is that because almost no one is buying the 3800X retail units, the only way for retailers to shift the stock is via bundling them with mobos/RAM/etc at a discount. You have to realise that these sort of promotions almost always have to be negotiated & pre-approved, as they are effectively subsidised either directly or via purchase order credit - otherwise the retailer would be literally hemorrhaging thousands after just a few dozen sales.

Considering the 3800X bundle is cheaper why would you go with the 3700X? You could sell the board on if you wanted to get something else.

3700x is like £275-290 plus a half good MB £60-80

That MB on the bundle is awful imo, 2 rams slots.... Single PCI port? Much do they sell for £50-70?

If your after a small from factor I guess it's not bad just not something I would go for myself

What does the x570 mobo get you? Why is that better?
