If it lives up to hype this will be a bargain buy and this is why im posting. No doubt it'll go cold, but this is the cheapest preorder so far with free delivery by overclockers.

Also have to say i hate the name, i think AdoredTV's "AMD Ryzen X8 4000" is a lot better

***Cheaper Ryzen available too***

Well its only £1 more at Amazon with preorder guarentee.....and i dont think £1500 performance for < £500 is over inflated. Cant win

Also available at Scan preorders went live at 6pm, im going to order the 1700x but would rather get it from Amazon as Scan and OcUK are bad retailers when things go wrong.

Thanks for that i couldn't find that at 6pm, ordered and no cash taken until dispatch you would need to be crazy to by from either of the other 2. Has anyone been able to find the motherboards on Amazon ideally the Gigabyte gaming 5.

Wait 1-2 months why whats that going to do if anything that would be madness as when the benchmarks go live on 2/3 and its confirmed as a bargin prices will go up thats why ive ordered now and if the intel i5 and i7 is anything to go by it will be more money in 1-2 months time. Doo you honestly believe that a 8 core 16 thread CPU will drop in price? you have no chance.

if amd are going to price them at this, there not going to sell that many, regardless of performance.

Of course they will. This is a top of the range chip for people using thousand pound software like Photoshop or Maya. £500 is cheap.

Cmon guys. Please have some patience wait for it to come out and wait for reviews. Worst case scenario its the same price. Best case scenario you know its a good product so you can buy with confidence.

Or the product isn't what is advertised and you can put your money elsewhere.

Whys that? the i7 is around the same price and it gets murdered by even the 1700 so how do you work that out, when you have a £400 CPU that beats intels £1000 i7's the 1700 beats the 7700k hands down and thats a tenner cheaper. By the way the 7700k as dropped by £12 on Amazon to its cheapest ever price. I have a 4690K which ive had since launch and intel's current i5 is only 10% at best faster than a 3 year old part so there was no way i was ordering another intel i5/i7.

Yes socket AM4.

This is the top tier CPU in the Ryzen line which is reportedly on par with an intel i7 6900K (That CPU costs nearly £1000 btw). For what its going up against and its price its actually a very good deal.

Was hoping the Ryzen 7 Eight Core 1700 was going to be £250. No such luck.

That's never happened before has it intels i7's and i5's went through the roof with the 6600k touching £300 at 1 point. I see you take no interest in PC components or you would know this. Or how about Nvidia's GPU's 970 £250 and 1070 £370+.

The way i see it is i was upgrading anyway and id rather spend a extra £40 on the 1700x over the 7700k and see a massive upgrade in speed intel will need to pull their fingers out there **** or they will be in serious trouble.

I think it's you who doesn't take notice you said the 7700k had dropped a minute ago to someone else. It's the same price it's been for weeks. Give over man.

I mean yes there was a couple instances last year around June time (i wonder why) that meant the 6600k went from <£200 to £250 and the 1070 from £350 to £400 as well as i7-6700k rising by about £20 or so. Strangely enough AMD FX went up too, i bought my 8320 for £100 in 2014 and they go for £120 the now. Bizarre

Right all i can do is accept 3xCamel if your telling me otherwise i dont know whats true but camel is usually correct and it says its dropped from just under £340 a few days ago and the last time i checked it was around £360 so i dont know whats true. I suspect you are looking at 3rd party prices which is true but id buy from Amazon because of the CS which most people on here would also do as paying £10 more to save agro later is a no brainer.

I only buy off Amazon, not third party sellers on Amazon.

I can tell you though, there is more than one 7700K on Amazon. But I assure you, it hasn't been that high as that graph in a while.

Edit: I am thinking of waiting until the 28th (when the NDA ends) and seeing benchmarks then pre-ordering the 1700X

Really disappointing pricing on these chips. Was considering it as a possible upgrade path as my processor is getting on for four years old but not a chance with those prices and as these are DDR4 anyone upgrading from a older system like me will need a new board and RAM pushing the cost towards a grand for a high performance set up.

Thought AMD was supposed to be more mainstream focused than Nvidia/Intel, they won't get many mainstream buyers at those prices.

Only hope is if OCUK are price gouging and the real price is lower, but I don't hold out much hope of that....

This chip is competing with $1K Intel chips not a mainstream Intel i5 CPU, you want the Ryzen 1600 (6 core, 12 thread) chip as a mainstream buyer.

this is pre order prices so they will stay around the rrp price. Also these are for the top end ryzen's not the 6 or 4 core products.

Cinebench (cinema 4d), handbrake and blender are heavy heavy duty programs. C4d has traditionally had been intel biased and we now have (again) amd beating intel in that program. I overclock my cpu when i use c4d if i'm doing hour plus renders.

If you use twitch to stream your games, then the handbrake scores are relevant :P and thats where also - more cores are important

My advice? Whatever you're gonna buy, do it soon. Otherwise once the Brexit "negotiations" begin, everything not produced in the UK is going to go through the roof. We've seen it with Apple, with Lenovo, with Dell. And its not going to get better. So stop bickering and make your choices.

Flubit are accepting it. But don't order before release date or it will get cancelled.

Yeh the prices would've been a lot better at the $1.50 trading rate for sure... OTOH the Malaysian ringgit is softening fast too, though it won't make up for the pound's precipitous fall from grace (don't know if all UK Ryzen ship straight from Malaysia after being diffused in Germany, some may be GloFlo US/China). Globalized supply chains are a tricky thing to try to price with all the currency and oil volatility...

1800X price will settle around £450-460 after couple of weeks. what I really don't like is the MB prices. They seems too inflated. Retailers use brexit as an excuse to increase the price. MB prices need to come down by £50 - £60. Anyway I'm waiting till Vega to build new pc so I have plenty of time.

The X370 is for the top of the range enthusiast motherboards with multi GPU support and top end overclocking, wait for the cheaper mainstream B350 AM4 motherboards, still allow CPU overclocking.

These are only the top of the range models, AMD are going to launch the rest of the line-up throughout this year. That's standard practice and this isn't the smallest number of chips that ever launched. Intel have had a couple of CPU launches with just two models in the last few years, the GT3e desktop chips and the first Skylake CPUs.

Rumours say it'll be these Ryzen 7/5/3 branded chips down to a ~£120 quad core in the second quarter and then the APU models presumably starting above that price and heading down to £30-40 budget chips in the second half of the year.

There are mobile chips launching in there too.

It's difficult if not impossible to predict future currency movements. The pound has already considerably devalued against the dollar (possibly over-pessimistic scenarios are already priced in), so there is a real possibility that if negotiations go better than expected, the pound will strengthen and imports could get cheaper again. I'm not saying this will be the case, but that is just as much a possibility (if not slightly more so IMO) as what you are suggesting.

My advice: Buy what you need when you need it, and don't try to second guess future currency movements. If you have a big purchase planned that might be affected by currency movements, and want to play it safe, then you could "hedge" (buy USD in advance essentially), but it's probably not worth the trouble in a case like this, and if it goes the other way you'll regret hedging since you could have had it cheaper in the end. However, if the pound does fall more you might save yourself having to pay a few tenners extra, if you find a way to trade currency without too much commission.

Ah, so another few months then. I thought they said that all will be released on day one.
