This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Absolutely amazing price. These will normally cost about £2.50-£3 each in oriental stores, or over this price delivered on various sites. Bought them yesterday as thought too good to be true, and had 6 arrive today! long best before date to of December 2022. Probably a miss price to be honest.

Japanese curry is sweeter than Chinese curry, so this hot version helps lift the spice a bit and makes a really good happy medium blend of sweet and spice

EDIT: the 6 I just had delivered after ordering yesterday. Even as a worse case scenario and 1 shows up THOUGH IT SHOULDN'T you just drop Amazon a message and you get a refund often and they say keep it.

Is this similar to the concentrate tubs of Chinese paste?
They also are selling a 1KG pack of House brand Java curry for an amazing price of £7.89 normally double this price. This stuff is the bee's knees of Japanese curry.

Is it VERY hot ?

Is it VERY hot ?

No no. They actually do a very hot version though it is not as common. This hot is maybe similar heat to a typical Chinese curry. A lot still call it mild, though. Worth a try

It says 6 pack in the description...about the only thing it does say! No ingredients, description, or reviews.
It is actually "S&B Golden Curry, Hot" , if they have managed to use the correct image!
Looking at it on a Japenise website, it shows the same image, but states 5 servings!!
I also find these really nice but a bit hot.

Yeah I'm not one for hot stuff, rice/meat n veg always helps cut down the heat anyway. full pack of this can make about 500ml of curry. There's a little recipe on the side of the box in English. Alternatively a couple of cubes and 150ml ish for a small portion for 1. You just adjust for consistency melting them in boiling water in a pan. Not too difficult

There's actually a 6 pack sold on Amazon for about a tenner plus postage I think , but this being sold by a company on Amazon they made their own listing as opposed to just joining the raft of sellers. Can only go off what I know. It says 6 and I got 6

Hi, the packaging looks different to my local store. Can you kindly check which country this was produced from please?
The image packaging looks different too, is this legit and taste the same?
Many thanks

Yeah there is a couple of designs I think, the one on Amazon I think is just bad lighting. The label on the ones I got says product of Japan. So authentic. They look like these

Shipping weight does say 671g, so probably still 6 packs. I ordered it since it's packed and shipped by Amazon.
Always get the 1kg blocks.

I cut them up and store them in the freezer.
Gone now.
Oos
Shame, OOS.

Thanks for confirming. Managed to get a pack. Great deal thanks you
Thanks for the post, have ordered the 1kg of Java curry instead as OOS
£3.90 in our local Thai shop for the 220g package so definitely a good deal and so tasty :-)
Gone, nevermind!
Gutted I missed this! Do people reckon the Java curry sauce would be close to what you would get in a Chinese takeaway?

It doesn't have cooking instructions on it to do a small portion just a giant portion, but you just treat it same as this or any other . Most say use maybe 1 cube to about 100 -125ml boiling water and just adjust for consistency if you want a portion for one similar to a serving from a chippy or whatever. It's normally 1 cube per person and about 100ml per cube.I always find it best add less water as you can always add but can't take out.

It classes the full 1kg pack as 40 servings when meat/veg is added and made up in 1 go. I never make huge pots like that though

It's similar , Japanese curry I think tends to always have vegetable or meat added to it. At least when I've seen it. Where as the Chinese takeaway you can have more on its own. Not that you couldn't do. Not done that myself though. The java has a massive fan base, considered to be one of the best Japanese Curry available. Tons of 5 star ratings. S&B golden curry is a very common brand that millions still enjoy but curry snobs would put the Java curry in a complete league of its own versus it, more depth of flavour , better spice balancing etc. See previous comment though about portioning it

Lidl had these in this week, think they were about £2 tho
This is lovely, gutted I missed it! Love it with diced chicken thighs, carrots and frozen peas added towards the end.
Tried this a while back after getting them in Lidl but not keen on it vs Chinese curry plus it’s twice the price for somewhat similar. Might try the java recommendation here.
