This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Currys will price match once you buy this phone for £499 and then call 0344 561 0000 to get price match with Argos. Even though it is out of stock but they will price match over the phone. I have done that. Please see my receipt confirming. Their website under price promise already states the price in Argos store last checked £334.50 so they are fully aware of this. Currys provide 2 year’s warranty on this.

This is not universally true. They will check stock online and see it's out of stock. They have to do this before agreeing to the deal.

Why buy the phone first? Why not call and ask for price match in advance to avoid the risk?
Post misleading and needs to say 499 and possible price promise

I called them first, they said I need to buy phone first and then call back for price promise.
It is 99% that they will accept on the phone but in case if they do not offer which is highly unlikely then return the phone or cancel the order straight away.
Of course it depends on the availability of cash or credit limit

But I have bought it already when it was out of stock, check my receipt. I only shared when it got confirmed to me today.

I don't doubt you got this deal, but it sounds like you got very lucky. Their policy is NOT to allow price matching with out of stock items. They specifically are only meant to agree to price match when items are provably IN stock.

It's possibly worth a call to speak to them first, but if they said to me I need to buy one first, I think I'd order it while I was on the phone with them, so they could adjust the final amount over the phone.

Well done to you, but I'd hesitate to call this a repeatable deal.

Agreed. You could put something like "£499 (334.50 with price match)" in title.
Just checked it online with Currys representative and she checked stock in my area and refused to price promise as it is out of stock at Argos

If they have a no quibble returns policy on phones, I'd say its worth a go.
It all depends on your cash or credit limit availability. If you have then its worth a go as currys will always return unwanted products. Also have a look under the price promise tab of product page, it confirms that price last matched with Argos on 2/12/19. Whilst it was OOS for few days now.

Good price!
If you have a receipt dated today you also get £100 cashback via Samsung.....
Even hotter....
As they offer the price promise for 7 days post purchase, if you buy and then claim, how can they know historic stock levels at a competitor...?
Maybe that's why they paid out....

No, it was in stock in one or two remote stores. That may have changed now.

This happened with me too. Currys wouldn’t price match as the phone isn’t in stock at Argos anymore

No, I will be as open and transparent as possible about this so people taking up this deal know the inherent risks. It's not about how much heat you get, it's about making sure people don't get left out of pocket.

When several more people do this and post confirmation that it worked, THEN you'll hear less skepticism about it. Until then, I'd embrace the fact the deal is still live despite likely being a one-off.

Thanks. it says it's for purchases from 4th December, except for CPW and Tesco
I have one reserved at argos which i was going to collect today. I think i'll collect it tomorrow instead!
Well I suppose you could be crafty and take a purchased one back to Argos tomorrow for a refund and ask to buy it again straight away to get the cashback.

That would be... interesting. What angle would you have though. You could be honest I suppose. I sympathetic employee might allow it.

Yeah I guess just being honest to get the cashback is most likely to get a favourable response. The 'difficulty' is getting it back into stock so it can be purchased again.

Would help if you knew a staff member ..i just picked up a canary yellow S10e in Argos yesterday, smiling going out the door ..now i feel Argos are laughing at me.Bad timing.Could have extended the reservation to 4th but did not know about the cashback offer until this morning.Still did well to get one of the very few decent BF deals.
Anyone managed to get price match over phone ?

You could always speak to the shop manager and explain you want to get the cashback, the worst they can do is say no!
I think the price for all promotional items will change at midnight. I am sure Samsung UK will set the new prices for all retailers. So by default prices will change at same time for all retailers in UK. Otherwise it is worth to wait for galaxy watch with 50 gbp cashback than claiming stupid trade in any smart band or watch.

It needs to be in stock for delivery to claim price match
It has to be available online only according to their CS so no where in this world would they pricematch
