Sabatier & Judge 5pc knife set IK60

Not a bad set of knives for the money

Certainly at the lower end of the Sabatier & Judge range but priced accordingly

Currently marked as half price at £25, down from £50, add the 20% discount and they come out at £20

The cheapest I've found them online is £35

Ideal gift for someone starting a new home

Should also add that the block is wooden not plastic

Still about Five sets in the Tunbridge Wells Branch

Had to post this as it gets me one step closer to my goal of sourcing all my christmas gifts from HotUKdeals

Sorry should have made it clearer in post, Bhs is currently discounting everything in store by 20%
Couldn't find any knives on their website, so I guess it's instore only

Block Sets of knives not good - the block blunts the knives too much.

Wrong, the block with these knives is wood and will dull the knife slightly.

There are plenty of high quality blocks out there designed so they do not contact the cutting edge, and therefore will not dull the blade.

What rubbish!!

Sabatier knives are the best.

My and the wife do cakes in our spare time for special occations and these have been going for years and are still top quality and sharpen up great.

Just mind your fingers

Well they aren't really the best. Not compared to Globals.

Just from past experience, the blocks (even wooden ones) blunt the knives and when they aren't sharp enough, they can give you really nasty cuts. I prefer a magnetic rack to hang the knives on and wouldn't go back to blocks.

For a cheap knife that's really good, you can buy Henkels in TK Max from £10, which are what are used in most professional kitchens.

If you have an issue with blocks blunting knives I'd love to know what you use for a chopping board, marshmallow or clouds perhaps ?

I use a butchers block style chopping board.
It's not just the blunting with these sets.
They aren't very hygienic. I just don't like them.
Sorry to cause distress, but I would personally throw the block away.
