Been considering one of these. Just a note in case others struggle, I had to have nothing else in my basket or the 40% wasn’t showing. As soon as this was the only item in it, it worked fine, heat added
Will this work on an older disk drive, out of my old pc

Works with Sata I, II, III (150, 300 and 600MB/s)

Offline cloning: 60mbps is a mistake. It should be something in excess of 720mbps (90MB/s which I've achieved, others reported 150MB/s)

Got another version of these a while back and just got round to using it the other night taking an old 300Gb drive out of a 10yr old laptop and cloning it onto a 400Gb SSD. Took a couple of hours to clone but worked perfectly. The extra 100Gb will need to be partitioned and formatted to make it usable but that's no problem. So thumbs up from me as it's quicker than formatting/reinstalling windows & apps and updates.

How is the laptop performing nowI have an old Dell core 2 duo and was thinking of doing the same.
It's an old Sony Viao with a 1st gen i5 cpu and 2Gb of RAM and it was really slow (e.g. wait about 4-5mins from turn on to being usable) but now it's usable from startup in around 40 secs I'd say plus noticeably quicker opening and using applications and browsing.

For a £40 drive and a £20 cloner that you can use again or even as an external dock/drive it's a no brainer. Even if you're not technically minded you only need to be able to use a screwdriver to do it. The only thing to watch for is the drive your cloning onto must be as big or bigger than the original drive.
Thanks Brutes. Ordered mine
Just got it same day Thank you OP will see if it lasts but for now i got a new bit of tech hmm

power plug for uk and EU so you can take it away with you cool
I'm not seeing the voucher checkbox, should I assume it has expired?

The other one that had a 30% discount still works (says discount expires today) so I'll go for that unless there's a major difference that I'm missing other than the way the unit faces?

The other one doesn't mention Sata III, does that matter in the real world? Or is the USB 3.0 the smaller bottleneck than Sata 2?

For £6..? Voucher and 40% off? That means the voucher was £15 off. I thought the voucher was the 40% off, right?
