You get that sudden feeling of falling into the abyss when you turn on the seat to reach the loo roll?
Do you sit in trepidation? Hover in horror? Constipated with concern?
You forever adjusting and re-tightening plastic bolts and rubber fittings with a bottle of Dettol spray in hand, peg on nose, mask on face?
YOU… have got a wobbly loo seat, one that twists, turns, and never sits straight, never level
&
Never Will !
I did, until that is we fitted this simple yet effective solution.
Having paid £8 and fitted them on the upstairs seat - I then found these at £5.25 delivered for the downstairs.
Easy to fit, clever set up by "temporarily" using an elastic band to get the fit just right, before fixing for good.

Problem Solved.

I was somewhat surprised how effective this really simple idea was.

They should be supplied as standard if you ask me.

Brilliant idea. I've had to replace my seat twice because it kept slipping, ending up breaking the plastic bolts.

Great idea, Mother inlaw took a sideways trip on Xmas day after a few drinks. Pity, she was OK

It cost me £12 to get a set of hinges for the loo seat upstairs !!

Its one of those slow closing types - stops the kids slamming it during the night.

With in less than a day - it was on the slide, and I dare not tighten it any more for fear of breaking a second set of hinges.

Using these, its rock solid. (Probably an in appropriate term given the subject matter)

Hence buying a new set for downstairs.

They should have just said drunk !
oO

wtf?

Not very hygenic, as it adds another crevice for germs to congregate and cannot imagine the state of the elastic bands after a few weeks with the bleach etc!!

If your toilet seat has metal screws, shorten them with a hacksaw and replace the nylon nuts with metal lock nuts. Tighten gently with a spanner, but do not overtighten otherwise you'll crack the pan.

This will permanently fix the loo seat whilst saving a fiver!

And there was me worried about cracking the hinges oO

Er ...the elastic bands are only used to find the optimum position before securing with wood screws.
You then remove them (_;)

Trust me when I say I have tried every method possible of fixing these loo seats.
It basically comes down to the hole in the pan being to large for the numerous size fittings, grommet's etc. supplied with the seats.

When fitted they are no more difficult to clean than the normally inadequate bumpers fitted.

Trust me if I thought I could of got away with using a couple of lacky bands and a lump of plastic to save a £5 ......

I'm glad you posted that link, 'cos now I see exactly what this does. But what I can't understand is, why don't the screws penetrate the seat lid? It's very thin after all.

Anyone know if there's a similar product like this but for plastic toilet seats?

So this will fix a problem I have never encountered Not voted

Heat for alerting me to the existence of a product that looks like it will solve the slipping seat problem at ours, but I admit I will probably buy from amazon instead!

I'm with SFJnet on this, heat added for solving a problem I have with my ageing mothers toilet seat.

The screws do penetrate the loo seat, but they are not very long, so no surprises when you sit.

Never seen anything for plastic loo seats. Maybe you could drill pilot holes and still use these those.
