  • The Bakery Boss replicates the planetary mixing action used in commercial bakeries and patisseries to give you 360 degree bowl coverage and professional results.
  • The flexible edge on this revolutionary beater wipes the sides and bottom of the bowl with every turn, cutting down mixing time by 60%* and making clean up a snap. *Compared with previous models.
  • With a combination of a powerful 1200W motor, 100% metal gears and 12 speeds, the Bakery Boss can manage heavy doughs and batters even over longer periods of time.
  • Set a mixing duration on the Bakery Boss integrated timer and the mixer automatically stops at the desired time. This feature ensures you never over whip again.
  • Included Accessories: Scraper Beater, Standard Flat Beater, Dough Hook, Wire Whisk, Splash Guard, Pouring Shield, Spatula, 4.7L Borosilicate Glass Bowl & 3.8L Stainless Steel Bowl
  • Item dimensions are 38.1 x 27.9 x 38.1 (Width x Depth x height) centimetres

Unfortunately out of my budget.

If you know your baking can you recommend a budget friendly starter mixer for the wife who has just got into baking?
I'd rather spend this money on a refurb kitchenaid from their ebay store, comes with 1 year warranty and you can bet that it will outlive you.

edit: just purchased and had a unit delivered this week for myself.

Agreed, mine looks brand new with all new accessories and bowls.

Not to mention all the great attachments, we love the meat grinder (metal one from ebay).

I like Artisans, but for all the talk of efficiency, the motors on Artisans are weedy (~300W) so not great for larger loads or breads, and the gears plastic and do wear out/break (witness the replacement parts on amazon/ebay), so these aren't the same as the ones from a generation back. They are pretty though, and the attachments can be great, pasta ones especially are a fave.

I do. It's called your arm!
Buy this (preferably not from Amazon)! Bowl and spoon is all you need.

Your biggest problem will be getting yeast right now. Good luck with that.

Sourdough FTW
Loads of babysitting. But worth it if you do it right!

The wife refuses to beat anything manually!

Trusts me, I have been trying for a long time to work on those forearms

I bought a refurb Kenwood Chef from the Kenwood eBay store for £85. It's good, handled everything I've thrown at it so far.

Keep your eye out for deals on the Kenwood Kmix stand mixer. I'm sure they've been as low as £150 or £180. My wife is a pro-ish Baker. (At home) and she has two. (instagram.com/theshhhbaker) She had the Kitchenaid Artisan before and went over to these.
I have a Kitchenaid and it's OK but would go Kenwood next time.

@ifaour That’s very annoying. I had a 3C alert for it and it never popped, so I bought at this price.

3C is down now for me, where is your screenshot from please?

Not the same model, I got the 175 model which includes flex edge beater, and two metal bowls which are much lighter then the glass ones. When adding those to the cost of this it would have ended up being more expensive.
