Just had this delivered, it’s in immaculate condition, original box by the looks of it, and includes the milk jug, manual and the tamper
I have also seen these on eBay before at ridiculously cheap prices and then all of a sudden the listing disappeared! In my opinion if it’s too good to be true etc etc...
I bought mine from John Lewis on offer at £425 I think just over a year ago, I had some issues with the first one after a week so they exchanged it no problem. it is a great machine, to me it’s worth the price I paid, as now I don’t go out for coffee, Ican make a better one at home now.

I've seen this a few times in the past, it's the same pictures of one that looks a bit battered. Did anybody go for it and get a better looking model
Great price, owned an 870 just shy of four years. Most spares are reasonably priced and readily available.
The tamper is essential and I'd recommend both single walled filters - never use the dual walls.

With regard to daily use and maintenance, blast some more steam through the wand after frothing milk and occasionally remove the shower head to clean it out.

Didn't notice it didn't come with the tamper, so may need to order that

Silver, just debating cancelling it and ordering the Delonghi ESAM4200 instead.

Tough call, nearly went with one of those myself though don't regret my decision. Depends whether you'd favour a more hands-on approach.

These have sold new on amazon for just over £200, they are also new in the delonghi ebay page with damaged box for £215.

Buy used buy twice, not worth it. Get new one and be happy.

I got one of these ‘used’ from this exact same supplier probably about 4-5 years ago now. Still going strong and used very very regularly. Never skipped a beat.
These look nice but I find them a pain to use and clean. Much prefer my uglier d'lhongi(sp)

I used to have a DeLonghi fully automatic but changed to one of these. A million times better as you can get it set up to exactly what you want. Different beans require different settings and manual adjustment is often needed to get things just right. Also the steam wands on these are miles better with way more adjustment on the angle, so you can steam the milk way better. Honestly, make sure you get this dialled in and set up properly before just rejecting it and going for the fully automatic one you’ve also ordered. In relation to the tamper, get a calibrated one for much better consistency rather than paying out for the standard one.

All working ok?

Sooooo tempted to buy it
Fantastic machine, a bargain at this price, I've had mine 3 weeks and am very happy with it. It's easy to use and easy to clean.

Mine was in much better condition than the photos and came with a tamper

I posted an image of it here
hotukdeals.com/com…970
At this price I’m actually tempted to get another one for work if the condition people are receiving is really good

Brilliant, just get it
Liberate your kitchen worktop from clutter. Aeropress, Burr grinder, fresh beans and a kettle is all you need.
The price is up from £188 to £192.
Honestly I just found Nespresso to be much better with far less hassle.

Have a look on Amazon for a calibrated tamper. I got a 53mm one and it performs infinitely better than the included one. I'd share the link, but it's no longer available.

If you get some truly fresh roasted beans (preferably from a local roaster) and get the grind set for a 25 second extraction you'll have far better tasting coffee with this. I don't own this machine but it looks up to the task. I prefer a separate grinder (Mazzer mini electronic & an old Rancilio Silvia in my case). Even the £60 delonghi espresso machines can churn out a cracking espresso if you replace the basket with a deeper non-pressurised from the delonghi BAR model (ebay.co.uk/i/2…BwE)
making it a bottomless portafilter That's what i started with.

This is what I do but it's just not the same as a proper espresso.
Grrrrr! I just ordered one from the same supplier the other day and paid £220 for it so this was a very good deal but showing oos now.
FWIW this has arrived in immaculate condition apart from a very minor unnoticeable scratch to the side. It has clearly never been used. Came in original box with John Lewis sticky tape. No jug, tamper or cleaning kit though. Just got to work out how to use it now

I bought one for about £400 new, and as long as your machine arrives in an okay standing I would highly recommend keeping it. One of the best purchases I've made, and 3 friends and my brother have all ordered the same or similar Sage machines after using and trying mine!
