Hope this helps. I know it's an expensive machine but the reviews are excellent. Was originally £497 but rang ecook to see if they would price match with Amazon and very nice lady there said yes just refresh your webpage and it will show the new price! It also comes with the free temperature control mug and 6 months interest free credit just in time for Christmas or in my case husband's birthday!

Paid the same but without the jug, cracking price for this, any actually cheaper than pods in the long run

had one for about 3 yrs, buy my beans off amazon - 6kg of lavazza for around £48 mark amazing quality. al you need to maintain it is some water filters and porta filter tablets - which can be purchased unbranded for reasonable price.

i have this same machine its BRILLIANT!!!!! really worth the money for the quality

Got the black version and had for about 2 years. Makes awesome coffee. Had an issue with the solenoid as recommended cleaning cycle with white vinegar didn’t work. Sage changed without issue and have since changed their recommendation to use more powerful sachets and now works fine.

Get my coffee from Tchibo directly as can get 6KG for under £40 when having sale and the coffee is really nice. Usually £42 but new customers can get 10% off. Site here

Been using it for a couple of years too and it's a good coffee machine. Very few times I have better coffee outside. I've set with gimoka platinum as my daily driver

Bought this last year for just over 400 from Lakeland but this is still a decent price. Great machine, used everyday for a year and has been faultles

John Lewis to price …John Lewis to price match?https://www.johnlewis.com/sage-by-heston-blumenthal-barista-express-bean-to-cup-coffee-machine-with-temperature-control-milk-jug-stainless-steel/p2267464?navAction=jump

Just submitted mine, have you tried?

Whenever I see a coffee machine for this price, I try to remind myself how many cups of coffee I can buy for near on £500+ how much it costs to buy the coffee and milk etc fo the machine, + and how long it would take for me to drink that many cups of coffee. I'd say we're talking around 500 cups.

I guess with this you still have the machine at the end but then can generally only drink them at home.

Exactly what we did a couple of years ago. The machine is fantastic. Signed up to PACT coffee for the free trial that came with it and thought I would just ditch it after that, but 2 years on and I'm still loving it, and I'm still with them.

Honestly I was with you. I literally bought this just to keep my wife happy, but I'm really glad I did in the end.

wish i could justify the price as I'm only an occasional coffee drinker

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I have a bean to cup machine. Admittedly it only cost me about £225 but when I can't get the coffee quite right and I'm out a lot I sometimes wonder why I bought it.

I had one of these and it was awesome for a home machine (I'm an ex-coffee shop owner) but the reality is if anything goes wrong with it after guarantee runs out you can't get parts and it's a heap of expensive junk. Mine did just that and no help from Sage.

There is convenience to factor in as well. For me it'll save the time going to a coffee shop, the fuel and parking costs and the opportunity shopping that inevitably follows. Based on our last outing to a coffee shop it'll also save us £5 and 600 calories in cakes!

What could be more convenient though than getting someone else to make the coffee for you and even serve it to you at a table?

Plus if you were a right cheapskate and don't care much about the quality of coffee you could sit in Wetherspoons all day and get t hose 500 cups of coffee for just £1.10. in total.

You might die from caffeine poisoning but a bargain's a bargain.

Looking at buying one. It's made by Breville apparently. Hmm

Not to mention that most workers in a coffee shop don't know how to operate a manual machine, let alone the average consumer.

Ta OP ecookshop has 0% finance available. I have the money but if they let me spread the cost then why not. Any reasons to go through John Lewis apart from easy returns?
