For me - it’s this one - purely for the ability to “lock in” your settings for each drink - once you’ve found your desired settings.
Fair price. May become available via John Lewis in the New Year. Paid similar figures for the all aluminium Jan 2019. Cracking machine one you get to grips with it, just don't expect a point and shoot (if you know what I mean!)
As above.
Takes a while to get used to it as you adjust your settings. Took me about 25 coffees.
Once you dial in your coffee correctly then you won't be able to drink anything else.
I dread a visit to any coffee chain.
Can't believe the poor quality of a delonghi coffee after using this.
Also find a good local roaster and get fresh beans.
I use grindhouse in Scotland. They usually deliver the next day.

Thank you for the coffee recommendation Mayzi - I currently use Rave Coffee in the Costwolds for my fresh roasted beans but I’ll def check these out!

This is exactly right.

Need a bit of patience but once you find the right setting for the beans you're using it's a great machine. Milk frother is surprisingly great too.

Milk frother is one of the main reasons I want the Touch. Produces decent micro foam at the touch of a button, which none of the other home machines seem to be capable of :/
Cheapest its been is £449 for the white one. Trying to hold out in hope for a repeat.

If Sage do their cash back promo again this could come pretty close.

I think it was £599 - £150 cashback? Is that right?

Yep, this was the deal:

Not sure how I missed it. Been on the look out for a while, must have accidentally deleted the alert
Wonder if this would be better than my Tassimo machine?
I have the pro, milk frother is decent in contrast to my modded gagia classic.

Whilst you may dial in to save settings, I would have thought there’s so many variables that renders this less than perfect. I’d go for the pro and save the money.
One Important bit for people that are new and want to buy freshly roasted beans. Don't use them straight away. Needs a week or two to rest for the oils to build up. Worth the wait...

I have the older non touch screen version and love it to bits. Wouldn't change it for anything else.

Unless you change coffee. Or when the needs of the same coffee drift over time due to regular slight changes in climate, growing, harvesting, roasting, blending.

How much coffee does one waste in getting in dialled in ? Is it worth investing in scales or is that unnecessary
How does this compare to Bosch tassimo please

Well you want to know what amount you're filling the basket with: 14g-21g? So probably essential to do it properly (scoops are not reliable)

Then, depending on how serious you want to get, do you measure the extraction by volume or weight? Weight is a better approach to dialling in, which then gives you a ratio between weight of grind in, weight of extracted espresso. And that's your dialled in setting. With this machine, you need to bear in mind that the grinder will warm as you brew, so the second grind may be affected and require a slight alteration.
