Create great tasting barista-style coffee - from bean to espresso - in less than a minute. Having your own Barista is perfect for kick starting your morning or finishing off a good meal.

This manual espresso machine offers hands-on prepping for your personal touches. The Barista Express allows you to grind the beans right before extraction, and its interchangeable filters and a choice of automatic or manual operation ensures authentic third wave speciality coffee results in no time at all.

The Barista Express has a built-in dosing and grinding, designed to grind the beans right before the extraction process. The analogue pressure gauge gives you ultimate control of forming the aromatic and volatile crema. Manually tamp with the integrated magnetic tamper.

The Sage Barista Express has PID temperature control, maintaining the water temperature within +/- 1 °C. Assuring the nuanced flavour notes of the bean perfectly balanced. The steam wand textures the milk to a velvety mouthfeel. You can even create silky microfoam capable of composing your own latte art!

Features

  • Bar Pressure (in Bars): 9
  • Coffee Maker Type: Bean to cup
  • The steam wand performs at the level that allows you to hand texture microfoam milk that enhances flavour and enables creation of latté art.
  • Simple and intuitive, giving you control over the grind size no matter what type of bean you're grinding.
  • Innovative grinding cradle allows any at-home Barista to grind directly into the espresso portafilter.

Please note that you may receive a BES870 or BES875 unit, but these are exactly the same model and specification.

I say it everytime, I got one of these in the past was rubbish condition (scratches all over and generally battered), missing loads of bits, and didn't work properly.

Luck of the draw, some people have a great deal with these. Also the company were great at returning it.

Bought one new on a black Friday, so glad I did.

Same here too, I would steer well clear of "good condition" unless you really don't care. I bought a Sage Bambino Plus from this seller and it looked like someone had been using it for target practice with an air rifle. As mentioned, the customer service was quite good for the return and refund (though I was let down by 3 x DPD no shows for collection, I had to drop off at a collection shop in the end).

Love mine. Only thing that annoys me is the timing on the grinder. Doesn't matter what bean or grind I use the knob is right at minimum, or barely past.

Maybe I need get them out to calibrate it. (edited)

Loads of videos on YouTube for doing this. I went through half a bag of beans calibrating my Barista Pro but now it's dialled in the coffee is great every time.

I got one last year from the same place, luck of the draw on condition and contents. The drop tray I received was heavily scratched, however I asked for a replacement and they sent a better one. I was also missing the tamper but that was also sent to me. Overall very good value if your willing to work for it a little

Missing the tamper that's not good. Been tempted on one of these for ages now.
Was in Costco Gateshead the other day and they had one on the shelf for £420, spoke to the bloke and he said its the last one and missing parts

Not bad if you like to take 20mins in the morning making your coffee that might come out bad due to many variables sent mine back to sage, respect for those who have the patience much happier with melitta solo

    It shouldn't take 20 minutes

    Great find

Once you get the hang of dialing in a shot pour from this machine you wont look at coffee pods, instants again.

A must for the hybrid worker

Excellent coffee machine, I bought one 4 years ago and still going strong, no issues whatsoever, with coffee as good as in the first month.

Recommended, just watch out for used items - to have it working properly after a few years, one does need to have respected the cleaning cycles. Each and every time. How can you check this when buying used? (edited)

Sensational machine. Bought new in 2017 and it’s an absolute workhorse. Has come with me on two international moves and still works like new.

Bargain at this price, would recommend at full price. Grab some Aldi Italian beans for one of the better value cups of coffee that taste decent!

Good price, i paid £303 from this seller 3 weeks ago

Great machine however as per comments above very hit and miss with condition. Generally poorly refurbished

How do they have that many refurbished one to sell? How do they source product? I am really keen to understand their business.
    Disco_D's avatar
Probably returns from the manufacturer or ex display models. For example, Costco allow 90 day returns, so when people return those products in that timeframe they go back to the manufacturer, who probably sell them to companies like this.

Awesome coffee machine. I picked up the Barista Express Impress from Costco over the weekend and love it! Only problem is that I have to sell my Nespresso with the 250 capsules I still have now! (edited)

    What capsules you got mate?
  14. DumbBeagle's avatar
Seems good value if it's in good condition when it turns up. Not a bean to cup machine though, might be misleading.
  15. _Achilles_'s avatar
6 months warranty is an insult.
  16. idealstandard's avatar
It's not a bean-to-cup machine as described, but it is worth every penny - have had one for years now and can't fault it.
    _Achilles_'s avatar
What is it exactly? genuinely curious.

    Does the voucher work?

Fantastic machine. I have one and love it. Bought used on a similar deal years ago. Note that it looks like this one won't have any of the accessories including the filter baskets and the rubber thing needed for the cleaning tablets. Just keep in mind the extra cost for getting those might add up...
  19. steverwaterhouse's avatar
I got one of these. It’s sensational. If you’re even thinking about it bite the bullet.
  20. HotDealSourcer's avatar
Is this worth the upgrade from a delonghie esam 4200?
    RHRMP's avatar
Yes, will take a bit more work, but will produce better coffee. Freah beans are a must. I made the exact same upgrade from 4200 to sage barista.
  21. yabbas's avatar
Has anyone got the voucher to work?
  22. jb90's avatar
A supremely noisy and very temperamental steam wand on this model. Would steer clear.

How is this compared to a mokka pot?
