OUCH! That stings. Still love mine, even at 2 months in and at £70 more than this!

You look like a mellow birds kind of guy
Can't rate it highly enough. A mid point between a (proper manual and an automatic).

It makes great coffee and more forgiving than a pro manual (and way cheaper)

Only advice for baristas to be. Get coffee that has been roasted recently (between 2 weeks and 2 months)

Newly roasted coffee is no good as oils need to settle down. Older coffee you get worse crema, taste results.

If it helps. This is my new daily coffee. Amazing crema. They send to amazon in batches so you usually get a bean that's been roasted 2-4 weeks ago. Never had a bad batch and it's an amazing price.

Grind size 6 on the machine for a double.

I think it’s the bulk stock batches of illy that are scuppering me. Pretty sure they’re month and months old.

Will check this out!
How easy it is to use and clean? I am looking for something that will save me money from going to a local coffee shop but without a hassle of manually grinding and using mocha pot
£380 is quite an investment

I have one and bought off Amazon Warehouse for £320 - came brand new. It's best coffee machine I ever bought. Very easy to clean and maintain. Compatible water filters can be bought cheaply as can cleaning solutions depending on how hard the water is where you live (I live in Scotland and water is perfect unlike the weather so that helps). I buy varying types of beans from Lavazza to Rave decaf beans and this machine consistently makes a beautiful cup of coffee. The pressure gauge is also very handy to be sure you're getting a good cup each and every time. Lots of vids on YouTube to help you decide.
This is a banging deal. Have some heat OP!!!
Just for clarification it seems like the pictures are from the BES870UK and not the newer BES875UK as there's no jug ?

Doesn’t post to Northern Ireland
a must have but would be nicer to get the one with main feed if they make one (you need a water softner or equivalent)
Would this be suitable for a salon, probably making around 5 cups an hour? or would you be forever re-filling it?

Have you seen anything similar which can be plumbed in?
Great machine, been using it at home since 2016. However, be sure to change the water filter every 2 months and descale ever 6 months or so. Also, requires 'capsule' cleaning. However, all managable and great results.
Seems like a pointless gadget for people that like to impress their friends

I do not know which home/semi pro can, should be asked to the manufacturer. I got a 18 years old (£1600 at the time) rancilio and when I bought it I remember there was the choice and I went for the main connection. I did not like the idea of having a tank of stagnating water on the back and in a plastic container. Anyway, before that I had a semi pro cheap machine(£600 at the time) and that also came with main fitting.
I must assume that these sage can come with main fitting on request.

you will not go wrong with the lavazza rossa but in more recent times I discovered the \italiamo from LIDL which in my opinion is better and a lot cheaper(£6.99xkg'). Always choose the robusto/arabica mix and not arabica for a good creamy espresso

Grind straight into basket as you gathered

Minimal to no overspill

The perfect 18gram grind is (1 o'clock) on the dial (you need to test it with beans you use etc) - but no spillage

Express the double shot

Grinds form a puck - empty - wash basket... job done.... very minimal mess

Maintanence wise, easy.

Change charcoal filter in water container every 3 months

Activate cleaning mode with 3 button press

You insert a rubber holder and 1 cleaning tablet into the basket and it does everything

Then after you pour your cleaning solution into water tank

Press and hold the double shot button for a couple of minutes whilst it runs the solution through

Then through the hot water outlet for 30 seconds

Then through the frother for a couple mins

You only need to do the above once every 2-3 months.

You can easily access the grinder too and an allen key is provided to remove the plate from the bulk head so you can wash that too.

Simple. Go for it.

I'd estimate the water tank is good for 6 or 7 medium americanos if you use the water tank to top up the shot which i assume you would.

espressos, it can do around 20-25

Also i'd say if you need to froth, its purely manually so needs attention vs a bean to cup machine. For ease you may want to consider a Jura bean to cup with milk container / or De-Longhi with milk container.

Both of those hold slightly less water but are way easier for staff to operate.

This sage of course produces the best coffee and lattes hands down but you need to put the work in too.
Great machine. I paid £475 about a year ago, worry every penny.

Thank you for your feedback. One of the staff is an ex-Costa manager. So she can train the rest.
Would the De'Longhi Eletta ECAM 44.660.B produce a better coffee and be a better buy for me? It's rated number 1 by this site: beantocupcoffee.co.uk/

I like the Rossa too but try the Lavazza beans in the black package - can't remember the name - but I found them much smoother.

your beans are a bit misleading description wise:

Can't go wrong with hasbean.co.uk . Entirely ethical (he goes to and buys from the farms direct) and importantly, tasty. Roasted to order, subscriptions available, too. I get a bag a week.
Seen a number of independent coffee shops using him too since I started using his coffee
SOAB! Just bought one of these two days ago from JL £486.
Shame that is OOS!

To be honest. I've never read the description on beans. I just go with fresh toasted stuff and make my own opinion.
