No, £60 for a Smart kettle.
The variable temp thing is very useful if you like instant coffee that hasn't been ruined by boiling the water, a £10 Lidl one we had used to be great for this but it started leaking water out of the bottom after a couple of months

Should be a feature on all kettles, particularly in a time when we're supposed to be saving energy.
Same price as John Lewis + 2 year guarantee included : johnlewis.com/sag…0UK
It’s a great kettle, had mine for over a year. The keep hot feature is great for timing gravy with dinner being ready & the temperature control for different teas/coffee’s my partner drinks is also great.

For the kettle it is, it’s great at the best price I’ve seen. If you don’t want the features etc you’re right they do sell one for about £3 elsewhere.
I like the smart features and they could definitely save energy in some cases but I still had to vote cold for the simple fact it is £60 for a bloody kettle!

If they want us to be more 'smart' about our energy use they need to make efficient products like this more price competitive, it is the only way ppl will change their habits.

For now I'm putting it on the wish list in the hopes of a pricing error or amazing black friday sale on it....

That like voting cold for a smart phone because it’s just a bloody phone

If you don’t understand the product just don’t vote, I’m always skipping deal that I’m not interested in.

If you a passionate about your tea and coffee the you will soon realise brew time and water temperature plays a massive part of the end taste , I currently use a thermometer in a pan on the cooker to reach my optimum temp with my Japanese organic sencha green tea and supreme earl grey tea which are not cheap and can easily get bitter if I use incorrect water temp but it takes too long doing it this way everytime and having a kettle where I can set temperature will make things much easier.

I’m was looking at £40 one on amazon but reviews have put me off on durability so considering this one as it’s a better brand.

I understand it perfectly! I even said it's a great idea, just too expensive. Smart kettles are great BUT they need to come down in price.

Smart phones are a great example of why this doesn't have to be so expensive, you can get them at almost any price point, yes the dearer ones might do more but they share a core set of features. If you want a smart kettle there is immediately a big price premium and there shouldn't be considering how cheap the comparatively basic 'smart' computer components will be...

Yeah your right!!! They know there a market for people like me so they exploit that , it’s true it shouldn’t be this expensive . Same with Apple Watch and iPhone I love apple product but there taking the piss now , back in the days my dad paid £600 for a VCR and about 5 -7 years later they were £50 you’d think over time iPhone and apple watching would get cheaper but there going the opposite direction! same thing happening with cars cigarettes alcohol petrol etc

The only way I feel better if I get a deal or buy used so prob don’t same add to wish list , at the moment I can get £5 of £25 spend and £5 back if I buy £80 gift card but still isn’t enough, going to wait till it drops further

Agree. This is the only kettle design we could agree on for the kitchen. And after spending £40ish on kettles that we’re only lasting a year, this still looks and works great.
