Sainsbury's seem to be clearing out a lot of old laptops. Usual luck of the draw depending on store.
I managed to get an absolutely pristine Acer core i3 15" machine for £150 in Glasgow.

Got one for my daughter this afternoon. You beat me to posting :p. Good deal and it looks great, definitely hot from me!

Will be fine for £99, reviewed at £180 this review liked it. It's a laptop using a tablet SOC (chipset), but for £99 it's a decent price.

Picked one up tonight in Kidderminster.

I own one since October 2015.

Absolutely silent. No fans whatsoever. Sealed unit, the only slots being for a MicroSD and two USB, along with the small power plug.

Stays cool, even under load. Suitable for use on kitchen tables with plastic type tablecloths etc..

Battery will last a full day of use, provided, under Windows 10, you click on the 'Battery Saver' icon.

WARNING. DO NOT FIDDLE WITH THE BIOS SETTINGS RELATING TO THE OS 'Keys', it will end in tears.. believe me.

The laptop runs a UEFI Firmware and it has, so far, been a waste of time trying to get the likes of Acronis True Image to 'see' the storage.

There's a little bit of flex in the lid, the metallic Asus logo in the lid is just glued on, worth remembering when running a duster over it, the letters will catch on the cloth and bend.

The laptop will run some old gog.com game titles, along with Minecraft on low settings and reduced render viewing distance of 8.

Would I buy this again. Yes. Worth its weight in gold. I love the silence and carefree portability.

Worth pointing out, some people hate blue Leds, I hate blue Leds, there's a bright blue Led in the Power plug. If you're sleeping in the same room as it, you'll notice it.

Great notebook, perfect for taking notes in university lectures I have found

Known issue of Acronis TI not liking 32bit OS on 64 bit hardware and/or UEFI, or similar, and applies to a host of other similarly-spec'd tablets / entry laptops. Macrium works fine, even from USB boot.

Great deal, even for the processor alone.

Can we have that again in English?

I have this machine, along with a host of other much more powerful computers.

Does what I bought it for fine, which is web browsing and watching videos. 2GB of RAM has never been an issue so far. Also for what I paid for it I could've give a crap if I smash it to pieces.

Voted hot.

Hi. Need a new laptop for my daughter, Year 7, for school. Don't need anything fancy. Any recommendations, please?

As usually none any where near me. So none in Crayford or Croydon sadly

I've tried the Central Milton Keynes store this morning, none there either.

would it be possible to put XP on this ??
serious question. thx

I have one of these, bought it 2 years ago.
It's won't win a sprint race,but could be first
in a marathon.Battery life is great,and charges
back up quick too.Definitely worth £100

Drivers won't be available. Oldest you can go is 8.1, to be honest Windows 10 is fine.

In Hastings store with a host of reduced tablets too

I bought a dell inspiron 1525 years and years ago which is still going strong. you can buy them on eBay for less than £100. just make sure it has a decent processor! and 3gb ram.

Why would you buy your nearest and dearest a 7 year old behemoth of a pc to lug around, its underpowered and unreliable..

This is standard price of these in USA, and they are built to this budget. I've read quite a few reviews saying that the charger breaks and as it is a proprietary fit it is costly to repace and the hdmi is micro size.

Great information and a refreshing change to see someone who understands the value of the tech.

If you're looking to image the eMMC you may want to try the free version of Macrium Reflect macrium.com/ref…spx you will have to prepare your Macrium boot device with the 32 Bit version, as this version of the Atom/bios won't run a 64Bit EUFI/boot device.

Even after editing your post it's still absolute gobbledegook.

If you're still hunting for one Dunstable had two left in dark blue / black about 30 minutes ago. X205T not X205TA but it's the same price and I think the same model.
