Now just 30p a bag - bargain! Just like the more expensive ones. Used to be like 49p.

Oooh good deal! I always buy the Tesco ones, theyre great. The only difference between these and the ones that are about 30p more, is the "value" or "basics" ones are a slightly more uneven shape.

Fab!

I always feel so dirty when I squeeze the cheese through the bag.

Grab some tomorrow, thanks.

it'd be hard to get cheesier than this!

My god sainsbury are going mad at the moment so many half price deals, half price feels so much better than buy one get one free.

It's 49p in Tesco (_;)

Grr I paid £1.80 for a bag of grated mozzarella yesterday at Sainsbury's. I saw some sweaty mozzarella in a bag which is the stuff covered in watery stuff, so I didn't think that was any good for pizzas, I asked a Sainsbury's employee and she said get grated it's better than trying to chop up the balls. First time I made a pizza, so there was sweaty watery mozzarella in a bag, balls and grated. I've tried the mozzarella in a bag and it didn't seem to taste the same as the grated stuff. Anyway if anyone can explain the difference that would be useful as I'd probably save money next time I make a pizza lol

Proper Italien style pizzas are made wth the ball type chopped into small cubes, or thin slices, much nicer.

Fishmaster, Mozzarella should come in a bag and it is not 'sweaty'. The grated stuff is terrible however this value stuff isn't much better.

If you're really concerned about the taste, get the buffalo mozzarella which is much more expensive but worth every penny!!!

Thanks, it says Mozzarella on the bag, when I opened the bag all this nasty watery juice poured out and I tried the cheese and it didn't taste of much. It was pure white.

Oh god, stick to the grated nastiness.

Cheap price , but the cheese is awful --You have to pay at least 2 quid for decent mozarella --better to buy Jarlsberg and grate that on your pizza

Wouldn't eat this 'cheese' - might as well munch on elastic bands. Any less than 2quid for a bag of grated cheese and it won't be quality, that's for sure.

Good deal, buy this every week.
Served on Sainsburys garlic pizza bread with discovery sliced red jalapenos, lots of black pepper and salt.
Cut cross slit in middle of bread (otherwise will be soggy) put on wire tray in oven at 200deg C for 10 mins.
Equally as good as the more expensive Santa Lucia that was BOGOF two weeks ago.

Not sure that matters too much. If you're buying grated cheese you're only going to cook with it so the flavours will change anyway. (Plus moist people use cheese in recipes for the texture, rather than the flavour.

great price and great for pizza and pasta

The Mozzarella you had is how Mozzarella should be!

en.wikipedia.org/wik…lla

It should generally be white and the "nasty watery juice" was water.

Going to give this a try and make a pizza, I'll see how it goes.

Thanks I don't think that type would be much good on a pizza though, would it?

An argument about 30p cheese? Its wasted on pizza anyway, this stuff is fine for that.

If you find it too wet for pizza, leave it to drain for a bit, and soak up the extra moisture with kitchen towel - thats what I do!

It's the proper stuff for a proper Italian pizza. You just tear chunks off and place it randomly on the pizza, see.....

That's got to be the funniest quote I've ever read on this site. It's like complaining that an orange contains slimy orange coloured squashy pieces...!!

If you don't know what Mozzarella is - don't buy it. Please..Stick to Kraft Processed Cheese slices, you'll be safer there...

Although if you DO know what it is, or want to try it - then serve it like this:
open bag, drain water, rip (dont chop!) it into pieces with your fingers, serve with sliced tomatoes and fresh basil leaves drenched in virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Unbeatable.http://www.suddenlycooking.com/Assets/recipe%20photos/caprese-salad_recipe_photo.jpg

Bit harsh that and ridiculous, I'm glad I made up your quota for feeling superior today, basically I have never made a Pizza before, so I decided to do it. I knew I wanted Mozzarella but there were different forms. Grated Mozzarella is very different to the Mozzarella in a bag. As for your snobbery take it some where else please, you will meet people versed in areas you have no clue about and would you want them to look down on you? Judging by your limited cognition people should not try to learn new things and stick to what they know. Next time try constructive rather than destructive criticism. Anyway I won't be dissuaded from trying new things just because of people with an insecure haughty attitude like yours. I like this cheese. Great in salads and pasta bakes. Voted hot.

Lovely in a big plate of mezze with some hummus, falafal, olives, a few slices of toast, the whole shabang.

I'm not moist, was a bit damp earlier and I prefer the flavour aspect of cheese in my cooking. Which I think proves your point(s).

Wow...what you said was ridiculous, which was why he quite rightly laughed at it.

I wouldn't walk into a field i know nothing about without researching it ahead of time, even then i would keep well quiet and avoid the obvious faux pas which i would be bound to encounter.

By the way if you choose to put olives ontop of your pizza expect them to come in a horrible watery liquid or possibly a horrible oily substance...because they will be different from the other olives available to you.
