Steak out the packet on grill pan 4 minutes each side. Don't puddle about with it. Enjoy

Never oil the pan. Especially if you pan is red hot. Flashpoint and all that.
Always lightly oil your steak. Yes, pan should be hot enough to ‘sear’ it and lock in all the juices, however, continuing to cook at a high heat will produce a tough steak.
Rare/medium rare, 1 - 2 minutes on high. If you like it more well done I would decrease the heat to about 30% less.
And cook until steak feels like the part of your hand between 3rd finger & thumb when pressed for a medium to well steak.

I'll ask my wife if she fancies meat and two veg.

If I get lucky, I'll buy her a steak.
Standard price.

They also have "British" rump steak at £2.35 for 225g, almost an equivalent price but may be better for those who don't want as much as 450g.

Strangely, the "Scottish" rump steaks are £3.50, the packaging looks identical.

do they have a vegan option?
How do you cook a steak at home, I'm hopeless. Still this is hot.

Then leave for 10 minutes in a warm, not hot, oven

Well done! 12kg in 12 weeks so far. I’ve actually hit my target but it’s really hard to stop once you get into a rhythm.

Totally agree. I was 15st 8lb and now weigh 12st 7lb. I've never had weight come off as easy. It's expensive though I'll say that

For me I’ve saved money because I spend so much less on sugary stuff and takeaways.

Had one on Friday, really nice - but if you cook this bad boy for 4 mins each side, it'll still be blue!!

No doubt she will only end up with the chipolata covered in rancid broccoli.
Does anyone know if the deal is national?

I've cooked thousands of steaks for thousands of customers. A lightly brushed grill pan is needed. Not after a row. Different people have different ways.

As have I. I am Michelin trained, so I go by how I am taught.
Each to their own when it comes to a steak as I’m sure your would agree.

I saw it in Godalming so not sure why Guildford has been put in the title???
My favoured method, usually for ribeye

1. Let steak sit until it reaches room temperature, coat both sides with sea salt and ground pepper.

2. Get a nice heavy bottom grill pan, get it nice and hot, add a good knob of unsalted butter, a single peeled clove of garlic and a couple of sprigs of thyme (dried tyme is fine)

3. Mixed butter, garlic and herb together, reduce heat slightly. Place steak into pan gently, cook for 3.5 minutes each side for medium rare.

4. Remove from pan and allow to rest.

Fight fight fight!
I fire up the gas weber, once grates proper hot throw on the meat sear both sides.
then turn off the burner under the meat the others down a bit, once meat hit temp then rest.
(lid closed except when flipping)
