Brussels Sprouts/80g serving counts as 1 of 5 a day

Preparation and Safety

To steam
Before cooking: Remove outer leaves. Rinse well. Place brussels sprouts in the steamer.
During cooking: Take care that the pan does not boil dry.
After cooking: Remove carefully. Check the food is piping hot.

To steam cook
Low heat
10-12 mins

To cook on the hob
Before cooking: Remove outer leaves. Rinse well.
Boil water.
Add brussels sprouts carefully. Return to the boil, simmer until tender.

To cook on the hob
Simmer on moderate heat
8-10 mins

Drain. Check food is piping hot.

Microwave Instructions

Before cooking: Remove outer leaves. Rinse well. Place brussels sprouts in a non-metallic bowl and cover tightly.
After cooking: Check food is piping hot. Allow to stand for 1 minute

    Ditto. Couldn't stand them as a child and used to watch in horror as my mum loaded her plate up with them. Now I do the same

    Used to shop there but found most of their 'fresh' stuff was rotten after 2 days

    Tesco is on a different level to these chancers. Much better quality products.
