Hot deal if it's in your store but they definitely were not in my local store. They were half price but not BOGOF.

What a deal.

I feel a Thai curry coming on

Hmmm. I'm just heading into town now. I wonder what time it's open until....

I hate prawns but heat added

I bought them today only charged £1.25! It said buy one get one free next to the price. (raw ones only - the cooked version were half price at £2.50 each)

Sorry to be nit-picking, but the deal is not £1.25 AND BOGOF. They were £2.50 each AND BOGOF
making them £1.25 each. Still a good deal though. Heat added.

Sorry, my mistake...title now corrected.

Hot! Shame the freezer section of my local Sainsburys is closed due to refurbishment

So.... they are frozen then?

As frozen as icy ice Mc Iced in an ice cap.

Then cold not hot at all !

Need to amend title to frozen section op

'The Guardian' on prawn farming

The price of providing an everyday luxury for consumers in industrialised … The price of providing an everyday luxury for consumers in industrialised countries has been a catalogue of damaging consequences in developing nations. Serious environmental degradation, disease, pollution, debt and dispossession, illegal land seizures, abuse of child labour and violence have afflicted the dozen or so countries entering the market. Western diners, meanwhile, are eating a food dependent on the heavy use of antibiotics and growth hormones.Aid agencies, including Save the Children Fund and Oxfam, have warned of the abuses that have accompanied the introduction of prawn farming for some time. But now the rapid growth of the industry and the scale of mangrove destruction it is causing have led the EJF to raise the alarm.

Yum. Don't you just love intensively farmed prawns? I refuse to eat them these days, disgusting little things. The more you read, the less appetising they sound.

For some reason, Sainsbury's prawns have got salt in them, which really puts me off. I will buy some for the freezers at that price though. I bet it's store-specific!

Wish Tesco would do the same!

Will look, ta

priced up at fiver a bag in my local, but did not put them though the till..

Same here, 5 quid a bag with no special offer on show.

just been to my local, and was charged 2.50 each bag. cold for me

the raw prawns are also marked up as £5 in my local, but went through the tills as Frozen BOGOF so £2.50 each.

Only the other jumbo prawns are marked half price at £2.50 so wondering if they may go through as BOGOF aswell...
