Sainsburys life insurance from £5 p/m and get a free £75 gift card

Found 22nd Jan 2014
Just found this deal for life insurance from sainsburys for nectar card holders.

.......Take out life insurance from £5p/m and after four months you get a £75 gift card to spend at sainsburys.........

........You may find a better deal elsewhere after four months and after you have received your giftcard........

.......If this is the case or you feel their insurance is not for you I guess you have unintentionally gained £55!

Plus double nectar card points at sainsburys for two years.

The policy is not like a mobile phone contract and can be cancelled at anytime but you need to have made four payments to get the giftcard.

sounds like a winner to me!

'From £5' - I bet that person has an exciting life.

Good offer cancel after 4 mths

Is there a code to put in as can not see any mention of free giftcard on website?

thanks

Think I'm going to do this.. Can you definitely cancel?

It's only for nectar card holders.

Sorry only just read it says it on your description lol.

definatley going to look into that as cheaper than my current life insurance

Anyone know how to cancel and if it's easy to do?

Cancel direct debit surely?simples

Generally you're covered if you pay and can cancel at any time, presumably they don't care that much as they won't have to pay out if you die. However you can get about £90 cashback on other policies via TCB but this might be easier to claim, not that I've had issues with TCB, just they take an age to pay and you have to pay for about 6 months.

Might actually take this up as another policy tbh

Do they do a credit search?

Is it legal to have more than one life insurance policy? Surely not?

It is a minimum 1 year policy, so £60 to pay

You can have as many insurance policies as you like, what difference does it make? You pay £5, they pay out £60k when you die.

The risk is covered in the amount you pay, the payout you get and the chance of dying.

What do you think the issue is?

My multiple policies were discussed with the bank and they had no issues with it

You can have as many as you want/can afford

My big concern that as life insurance they are only offering a maximum of 19 years. what do they know! oO

Yep, you can. It's all about insurable interest.. If you have a £500k house, you can get £500k worth of life insurance - you can split between as many providers as you like. You can also argue that your life has 'unlimited insurable interest'..

T&C's from website:

Each customer requires their own Nectar card to take advantage of this offer. Nectar card details must be provided at point of sale. Your Gift Card will not be issued retrospectively. If all conditions are met, we will aim to send your gift card four months after your policy start date. Please allow time for delivery. If you miss a payment or cancel within this period your gift card will not be issued. We reserve the right to cancel any policies should we suspect fraud or misconduct. Offer only available to customers taking out a new Life Insurance policy, limited to one gift card per customer in a 12 month period and cannot be exchanged for cash or used in conjunction with any cash back offer. Joint policies are entitled to one gift card only. We may withdraw this offer at any time and the offer may be amended. Employees of Legal & General cannot take advantage of this offer."

Don't cancel within the first 4 months and should get the giftcard.

Win/Win situation, cancel after couple months down the line and if I die in that 2 months ....even better!

My cover amount is only £48,658!

Plus life insurance for a year!

Erm, does it matter which options you pick/how long you want cover for?

I proceeded to the payment page and when I entered my bank details it said that something went wrong! (_;)
Couldn't be bothered going through all the questions again!

Thanks OP, applied. Hopefully they will be prompt with the gift card

I got an error page after confirming payment details, but then a confirmation email came through pretty soon afterwards.

Just select Level Term Assurance only for cheapest premiums, then on the next page put £5 for "amount to pay each month." I chose 10 year duration.

Anyone know if they do a credit check on you.

Thanks. I assume picking "10 year duration" doesn't lock you in for 10 years! It only lets me pick 2 years minimum anyway...
