Something fishy going on here
No, thanks, £15.50/kg for previously frozen and defrosted.
Farmed salmon is already mushy, frozen makes it worse, texture quality is important for consumer acceptability of salmon (any fish). Evidence: Freezing before smoking results in a softer texture (Dunajski,1979). And if frozen after smoking and stored for ? months and then defrosted? No thanks, would be poor value for money at its original £31/kg.

Good price.
The taste will be affected from anything "Previously frozen" no matter what they claim!
Its 3 for £10 or £3.50 each for 220g Salmon everyday of the week in Morrisons. Yes its not Smoked, but its never £30/kg fresh or frozen.

Just get wild salmon, with MSC marking.

I used to buy a lot of tinned wild Alaskan salmon.

But it's shot up in price this year.

Used to be able to get it quite cheap from the discount stores.

Not sure what it's going for at Lidl these days. Aldi is £2.29 for red and £1.49 for pink - 213g tins.

Used to be able to get Princes medium red for £1.50 last year, and pink for £1 or £1.29 or so from B&M.

I think Lidl do the large 400g tins for just shy of £2 still.

It's £3 in Asda and Tesco now.

The frozen salmon is normally wild too. I tend not to buy "fresh" fish. With salmon it's typically farmed, often previously frozen as covered, and won't be as fresh if not frozen anyway. And it makes cooking less flexible.
