Found 12th Apr 2014
Your Nectar points could be twice as much with the Nectar Rewards Double Up. From Wednesday 23 April to 13 May you could turn your points into Double Up vouchers to spend on Beauty, Electricals, Home, Tu Clothing & Magazines. You can redeem your points for a £10, £20, £30 or £40 voucher at the Customer Service Desk

You can redeem one Double Up voucher per category, per Nectar card, with the maximum Double Up voucher being £40. You have until 20 May to spend your vouchers.

Please make sure you have used the store you plan to redeem them in before.
I used them last year to treat myself in a much larger store than I normally frequent, I was going on holiday. The vouchers did not work, reason given I had never shopped there. I did contact Nectar but I gave up, they were not at all interested

shame that games and consoles are excluded

I find it so frustrating that they continue to limit the amount you can double up, I have over £300 worth of nectar but can only use £20 on this.

Yes, I'm not a big fan of Tesco but the sad reality is that their Clubcard Deals are much better than any deal I have ever seen so far from Nectar, and they don't make you jump through a series of arbitrary hoops to claim your rewards with them, either.

Thanks. Did get a bit excited there as I have about £90 but can't double up that amount.

Can these be used online or in-store only?

Thank you, would have missed this probably if you had not mentioned it.

Instore only... And below conditions apply as mentioned in the faq.
Can I exchange my points in any store?
You can exchange your Nectar points for Double Up vouchers at any Sainsbury's supermarket. This doesn't include Local or convenience stores, Sainsbury's petrol stations or online.

If you have not shopped and swiped your Nectar card in the last year in the store you wish to exchange your points in, the colleague at the Customer Service Desk will contact the helpline for you so that this is possible.

Magazines??
Really??

Nectar is such a steaming pile of faeces as far as reward schemes go.

Love sainsburys, hate Tesco but clubcard is so superior

They said it was not possible to me last year. I ended up using my vouchers for what they were worth, not doubled. Be Careful if you haven't used the store in last year.

As most of us feared, this is the usual sub-par double-up. My (significant) Nectar points balance will thus remain undisturbed. I'm beginning to wonder why on earth Nectar bother with "promotions" like this that just highlight how inferior the scheme is compared to Clubcard.

Amen to that.

does anyone know if you can double up in store then order on line for click and collect as my local store does not have what I was wanting .

I did the following last year.

Buy online for click and collect and pay using credit card.
When you collect from customer service instore explain that you want to pay using double up vouchers.

They will refund your card then do the transaction again taking off your double off discount. (Provided its from one of the qualifying sections and the item isn't excluded, eg baby formula milk, video games)

First of all it's a good step forward, compered to last year double-up promotion (then max £20 voucher, now £40). Secondly it's not fair to buy things and get Nectar points from, let's say Argos, and then double up at Sainsbos, is it? Sainsbury's rewarding your Argos/Ebay/Homebase etc custom.

Noticed something. There is some contradiction in Ts & Cs that you could try and exploit. I am going to try and kick off about it in my local see how I get on ;).

sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/ter…ns/

states:

"There are 5 participating categories:
Electrical,
Clothing (including Footwear and Accessories),
Home (excluding Garden, Outdoor and Leisure)
Beauty (excluding Healthcare and Baby),
Magazines (excluding Newspapers).
The offer is not available on any other categories.

Electrical I am sure used to say Games, DVDs etc but after the comma is now blank.

If you click the link for 'Here is the full list of what is and is not included ' it leads to here sainsburys-live-well-for-less.co.uk/pag…und?aspxerrorpath=/http:/picasso.media.s3.amazonaws.com/PDF…pdf

Which for me says 'Oops we can't find that page'.

As said, we all know what it actually says in the exclusions in Ts & Cs for electricals on the pdf doc ( picasso.media.s3.amazonaws.com/PDF…pdf ), but there is an opportunity to dispute this I'd suggest. The Ts & Cs page no longer explicitly states any exclusions under Electricals and they are not making it easy to find a list of exclusions (or you can try that angle at least). Total hit and miss, but worth a go. Never know you may get a weak negotiator and come out with the result you want. If I get any joy then I will repost.

See my post above. Not saying it's a guarantee, but if a console you want, may be worth a try.

brilliant deal.the Mrs got 3 for 2 on make up also.and there's a 50 percent sale on selected clothes.so works out 25% of cost

somewhere to spend these hard earned points for those that still don't know. ..

Refused to do this in store, think they've changed their policy this year.
