When in Sainsbury’s today saw that their wedding selection was half price or more. Brilliant for a bride on a budget 😁

Am I the only one wondering the back story on the picture?

They're preparing to walk down the aisle. Aisle 10 where the biscuits are, to be precise.

Oh you didn't know? Sainbury's were holding a freebie giveaway event where by if you got married in your local Sainbury's carpark they would provide you with Sainsbury's own brand dresses, suits and a lovely selection of biscuits for free. They also covered the cost for all the legal documentation and Barry from the fresh fruit and vegetables section would officiate the wedding. To top it all off you also received a free £10 off voucher to use in store for every month that you remained in wedlock. The only catch was that you had to sign a contract allowing Sainbury's to use your wedding photos and your likeness in all future wedding promotional campaigns.

The deal was originally posted to Hotukdeals by the user "Millarcat" and it set a new Hotukdeals record by making it to the hot page in exactly 3.14 seconds. The deals comment section was riddled with users begging others to marry them along with their location and how far they were willing to travel. It was like a free pizza or meerkat movies voucher code thread on steroids. Everybody and their Nan's were trying to get in on the action. I myself ended up marrying another man who funnily enough turned out to live on the same street as myself. I forget what his name is but that's not important anymore. We had a lovely honeymoon and now we are reaping the benefits with our monthly £10 Sainsbury's vouchers and we both couldn't be happier.

Not sure why this is cold; weddings cost a bomb, a stupid bomb, so anything that saves money is excellent. Thanks for posting @gmox

Lol no, I thought it might have been part of a package to have wedding filmed free in car park, via CCTV!

Oh dont remind me. I'm still married to some woman after I replied to her request on here. Thing is, I never did got a reply from Sainsbury's, and I feel used and dirty. I still cry in the shower at night.
